Successfully Concluded | Two-Day Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Workshop for PMUs and PIUs in Punjab
The Centre for Environment and Social Sustainability (CESS), NED University of Engineering & Technology, and the World Bank Group, successfully concluded the Two-Day Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Workshop for PMUs and PIUs in Punjab, held on 29–30 June 2026 at Avari Hotel, Lahore.
Under the theme "From Hazard Identification to Risk Control, OHS Planning and Field Monitoring," the workshop brought together professionals from Project Management Units (PMUs), Project Implementation Units (PIUs), government organisations, and development projects to strengthen Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) practices in infrastructure and development projects.
The workshop combined expert presentations, practical case studies, group exercises, and interactive discussions covering hazard identification (HAZID), risk assessment and management, development of OHS and Safety Plans, and effective field monitoring. The enthusiastic participation and knowledge sharing made the programme a highly engaging and rewarding learning experience.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our distinguished resource persons—Dr. Kashif Rasheed, Dr. Muhammad Ahmed, and Dr. Tariq Sultan Pasha—for sharing their valuable expertise, practical insights, and extensive professional experience throughout the workshop.
Special thanks are also due to our dedicated organising and administrative team—Ms. Kiran, Ms. Sana Ahmed, and Mr. Imran ul Haq—whose hard work and commitment ensured the smooth planning and successful ex*****on of the event.
Finally, we express our gratitude to all participants for their active engagement and valuable contributions. Your commitment to improving workplace health and safety is instrumental in promoting safer, more resilient, and sustainable development projects.
