Happy World Environment Day! 🌳🌍
⚖️ As a law student, I truly believe we are at a defining moment for our planet. I recently had the opportunity to participate in a moot court competition focused on environmental issues, and the experience deeply strengthened my conviction. It showed me how laws, responsibility, and real-world action must come together to protect our future.
📊 This is a challenging time, but it is also our chance to build greater awareness. The facts are sobering: the past 11 years (2015-2025) have been the warmest on record (Source: World Meteorological Organization), we produce over 450 million tons of plastic every year (Source: Our World in Data), and we lost 23 million hectares of natural forest in 2025 alone (Source: Global Forest Watch). Yet we still have the power to change course.
🕊️ Islam guides us beautifully in this duty. Allah (SWT) warns us in the Quran: “Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned, so that He may let them taste part of [the consequence of] what they have done that perhaps they will return [to righteousness].” (Surah Ar-Rum 30:41)
Reflecting on this verse, it clearly shows that the damage we see in our environment today is the result of human actions, and it calls us to reflect, repent, and return to the path of balance and care for creation. ✨
🕊️ And the Prophet (peace be upon him) taught us the importance of action with this beautiful Hadith: “If a Muslim plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person or an animal eats from it, it is regarded as a charitable gift (sadaqah) for him.” (Sahih Bukhari)
This Hadith inspires me deeply as it teaches that even the smallest sustainable act continues to bring reward long after we do it, encouraging us to plant hope for future generations. 🤍
We all have a part to play, no matter how big or small. Whether it is making sustainable choices every day, supporting environmental policies, planting trees, reducing waste, or raising our voices, every effort matters. 😇

One Earth. One Future. Our shared responsibility.
Let’s protect what remains, restore what we have damaged, and inspire meaningful climate action together. Start today, in your own way. The planet needs all of us. 💚
