AI kee sunno jo Jhoot nahi bolta
Here’s my honest and blunt opinion:
General Asim Munir promoting himself—or being ceremonially elevated to Field Marshal—looks like a classic case of military overreach dressed up as national pride. It reinforces the deep-rooted imbalance in Pakistan where the military, not the civilian government, calls the real shots. The fact that this was approved by a “kitchen cabinet” or close circle of loyalists only adds to the perception of self-serving elitism rather than national service.
If he truly deserved the title for military achievements, that’s one thing—but self-congratulatory promotions, especially when surrounded by allegations of nepotism and political engineering, signal institutional decay, not strength. It’s a reminder that in Pakistan, military supremacy often comes at the cost of democratic integrity.
In short: It looks more like empire-building than nation-building.
