With a strong commitment to leaving no one behind, reconstructed homes are being designed with inclusive features such as ramps, handrails, tactile pathways, safer entry points, and other need-based modifications for persons with disabilities.

Through the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives IFRAP Housing Reconstruction Unit Balochistan, inclusivity is a core focus of the reconstruction process.

For specially abled beneficiaries, including visually impaired persons, homes are being designed with accessibility features such as ramps, handrails, tactile pathways, and safer access points to support independence, mobility, and dignity.

This project is not only about construction. It is about care, inclusion, and ensuring that no one is left behind.

Keynote insight from Mr. Asad Ullah Nasar, Project Director IFRAP

He highlighted IFRAP as one of the largest initiatives in Balochistan, focusing not only on recovery but a comprehensive package including capacity building, shelters, trainings, and livestock restocking.

He noted that the 2022 floods caused severe losses across Pakistan, with the highest impact in Balochistan, making recovery needs particularly significant. Efforts have been implemented in phases, covering infrastructure rehabilitation as well as health, education, and early warning systems.

He also shared progress on housing reconstruction, stating that 20,000 houses have been established, with 37% supported by Islamic Relief Pakistan.

These newly constructed houses by Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives IFRAP - Integrated Flood Resilience and Adaptation Project - Post Flood 2022 Housing Reconstruction Unit Balochistan are more than just structures. Protecting Lives Through Timely Warnings

Hill torrents can develop rapidly, putting communities, livelihoods, and infrastructure at risk. Through the Hydrological Modelling-Based Early Warning System for Hill Torrents in , the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives IFRAP - Integrated Flood Resilience and Adaptation Project - Post Flood 2022 Component II (Modernization of Hydromet & Climate Services in Pakistan) under PIU Pakistan Meteorological Department is working to strengthen disaster preparedness with cutting-edge modelling, forecasting, and timely alert mechanisms.

This initiative aims to help vulnerable communities respond earlier, reduce flood risks, and build resilience against climate-induced hazards. Together, we are moving toward safer, better-prepared communities across Balochistan.
