Ardeshir Cowasjee (often misspelled as Ardsher or Ardsher Kawasaki) was a legendary Pakistani newspaper columnist, philanthropist, and businessman. Born in Karachi on April 13, 1926, into a prominent Parsi (Zoroastrian) family, he managed his family's merchant shipping business until it was nationalized in the 1970s.He became best known for his fearless, weekly columns in the Dawn newspaper, where he consistently spoke truth to power, exposing government corruption, environmental degradation, and land-grabbing. He passed away on November 24, 2012, in Karachi.

Abid Ali was a highly celebrated Pakistani actor, director, and producer. Born March 29, 1952, in Quetta; he passed away on September 5, 2019. He started his journey at Radio Pakistan and later became a household name with his stellar performance in the 1978 iconic drama Waris. Over his 45-year career, he acted in hundreds of dramas and films. He was awarded the prestigious Pride of Performance in 1985. He was the father of well-known actresses Iman Ali and Rahma Ali.
