About Us
The valley as a part of the ancient silk route set in the most majestic mountain scenery, where the Karakorum, Himalayas, Pamir and Hindukush ranges meet, the Karakorum high way snakes through the mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan toward the people republic of China, is a unique feat of engineering known as the eighth wonder of the world.
In the remote areas of Gilgit Baltistan Development of the social sector has never been able to keep pace with the rest of the country. Though the Government and Private sectors are spending on education, health and economic development has created a wide gap between the needs and availability of resources.
A major segment of the population belonging to lower strata of society specifically in the mountainous region is thus facing serious problems of health, economics, and access to quality education.
A few enthusiastic members of the community joined hands to establish a welfare organization in September 1992, which was named as Nazimabad Educational and Social Welfare Organization has focused its attention on providing affordable quality education in the doorsteps, emphasizing the importance of English language and the importance of acquiring quality education to keep pace with the developing world.
Our organization has three main goals: to preserve and provide access to the quality education, to build and support quality living programs, and to develop economical development plan based on the resources available.
We have established an institution Le Rosey Model School which started its first year in a rented accommodation. The reputation of school was soon established for its standard and quality education. The performance created so many enthusiasms among the local population that plans were made to upgrade the school from primary to secondary and move it from rented accommodation to a purpose built site. In 1998 the community took the initiative t o donate the land for the construction of a purpose built building for school. In the year 2000 the construction of phase one started, which was consist of the examination hall, principal office, staff room, 04 class rooms and the toilet block. During the construction of this phase the Canadian international development agency (CIDA) kindly accepted to be our partner in the development by providing funds for the cement, wood and steel needed for the construction. The local community actively participated by donating in kinds and working as free skilled and unskilled labor to bare the lion’s share of the construction cost. In 2002 the construction of phase II was started. This phase consists of 06-class rooms, a kitchen, a store, a science lab and library. The community completed the construction of this phase in the same year with some financial help by an honorable British citizen. For the last eight to ten years the school gains a remarkable reputation for its quality education. In the history of village, it was the first time when children started qualifying for the admission tests of the premier institution of the Gilgit-Baltistan, after completing their secondary education with us. Every more than 60% of the students are not only qualifying the admission tests but are also the leaders of their respective classes because of their sound primary and secondary educational back ground with us. The school came into existence with a vision to generate a post moderate, enlightened and globally informed young generation with in the village community. For the attainment of the vision, the following are the values strongly followed by the school.
• Academic excellence.
• Strong and active community involvement.
• Sheared and collaborative learning.
• Equal opportunities for every child to learn
