The University of Haripur has emerged as one of Pakistanโs rapidly advancing public sector universities, completing an extraordinary journey of institutional transformation during the four-year tenure of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shafiq Ur Rehman from 2022 to 2026.

Over the past four years, UoH has transformed from a growing regional institution into a dynamic center of academic excellence, gaining recognition at both national and international levels.

One of the most significant accomplishments of this transformative period has been the Universityโs growing international visibility.
UoH secured a place in the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Rankings, strengthened its standing in QS Asia Rankings, and improved its position in Webometrics, placing the University among the emerging leaders of higher education in Pakistan.
The University also achieved exceptional subject-specific recognition by securing the No. 1 position in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Medical and Health Sciences, while attaining leading rankings in Life Sciences and Physical Sciences.

The Universityโs Quality Enhancement Cell achieved a remarkable score of 86.69 in 2024โ25, compared to 46.69 in 2021โ22. This improvement reflects one of the most significant quality assurance advancements among public sector universities in the country.

The University experienced unprecedented enrollment growth, with student numbers increasing from 6,395 in 2021โ22 to 10,540 in 2024โ25, representing an increase of nearly 65 percent.
To meet growing demand, UoH expanded its academic portfolio to more than 100 academic programs, introducing future-oriented disciplines including Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Nursing, Public Health, Biotechnology, Forestry, and Engineering Technologies.
Curriculum modernization was also carried out to align academic programs with industry needs, technological advancements, and Higher Education Commission standards.

Research productivity witnessed a historic surge during the tenure of Prof. Dr. Shafiq Ur Rehman.
Annual research publications increased from 120 publications in 2021โ22 to 558 publications in 2024โ25, demonstrating the Universityโs rapidly expanding research culture and scholarly influence.

The University strengthened its financial position during this period.
The budget increased from Rs. 1,100 million to more than Rs. 2,300 million. Pension and endowment funds were also strengthened while maintaining financial self-sustainability, transparency, and responsible governance.

The number of students benefiting from scholarships and financial assistance increased from 721 students in 2021โ22 to 2,322 students in 2024โ25, representing more than a threefold increase.

Recognizing that institutional excellence depends on human capital, the University invested significantly in professional development and capacity building.
During the four-year period, UoH organized 54 faculty development programs, benefiting 221 faculty members, while 38 professional training programs were conducted for non-teaching staff, benefiting 180 administrative employees.
These initiatives strengthened teaching quality, research capacity, leadership competencies, administrative performance, and institutional effectiveness.

New academic buildings, modern laboratories, upgraded libraries, student facilities, and improved campus infrastructure significantly enhanced educational and research capacities.
At the same time, UoH embraced digital transformation through the implementation of advanced ERP systems, online admissions, Learning Management Systems, digital examination processes, and automated financial and administrative operations.
These reforms improved transparency, efficiency, service delivery, governance, and operational performance while reducing operational costs.
