🌦️ Bacha Khan University Charsadda Signs MoU with Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) 🤝

Bacha Khan University Charsadda (BKUC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) to strengthen institutional collaboration in meteorological observations, climate resilience, disaster risk reduction, sustainable development, weather monitoring, climate adaptation, early warning support, and agro-meteorological services.

This strategic partnership marks a significant step toward fostering research-driven cooperation between academia and one of Pakistan’s leading scientific organizations. Through this collaboration, BKUC and PMD will work jointly on weather monitoring, climate-related research, academic data sharing, technical coordination, and initiatives aimed at enhancing preparedness against climate-related challenges.

The agreement reflects BKUC’s commitment to promoting impactful, public-service-oriented research while creating valuable learning and research opportunities for faculty members and students in the fields of climate science, environmental studies, agriculture, hydrology, disaster management, and sustainable development.

This important initiative has been made possible under the visionary leadership of Prof. Dr. Khan Alam, Vice Chancellor, Bacha Khan University Charsadda, whose distinguished expertise in Atmospheric Physics continues to steer the university toward scientific excellence, innovation, and strategic national collaborations. His leadership has played a pivotal role in expanding BKUC’s research and academic footprint, particularly in climate science, environmental monitoring, and evidence-based policy support.

Both institutions expressed confidence that this collaboration will strengthen BKUC’s research profile and contribute meaningfully to national efforts in weather forecasting, climate adaptation, disaster preparedness, and sustainable development.

Bacha Khan University Charsadda Signs MOU with Pakistan Economic Frontier (PEF) to Foster Academic and Research Collaboration
Charsadda – In a significant step towards enhancing academic cooperation and research initiatives, Bacha Khan University Charsadda (BKUC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Pakistan Economic Frontier (PEF). The event was chaired by the worthy Vice Chancellor of BKUC, Prof. Dr. Khan Alam, while Dr. Irfan Hussain Khan represented PEF in signing the agreement.
The MOU aims to establish a collaborative framework benefiting both institutions in the organization of conferences, seminars, workshops, webinars, joint research projects, publications, and internship opportunities for students.
Dr. Muhammad Sohail, Head of the Department of Economics at BKUC, will serve as the focal person for this partnership, ensuring smooth coordination and implementation of joint initiatives.
Speaking at the occasion, Prof. Dr. Khan Alam emphasized that this partnership would pave the way for innovative research, enhanced learning opportunities, and skill development for students. He added that collaborations like this align with the university's vision of excellence in higher education and research.
