Changla Gali, NWFP, Pakistan

Near Murree Hills , and it is one of the hill stations built by the British government in that Northern region of Pakistan. Dak Bungalow is a historic term means a multi purpose government facility which was used for the transfer of "dak" which means mail in English. Mail or "dak" was moved either on foot or on horse back. In those days when a person was sending some

mail or parcels then it took months and months for that stuff to reach some where in this world. Various "dak bungalows" were built all over the sub continent and the distance between each station was usually 10-16 miles. Mail was shifted from bungalow to bungalow and they had arrangements for the stay of horses, all kind of government employees and authorised general public etc. During disaster, natural calamity, earth quake or famine etc. such public places are used for rescue and relief purposes.
