Health prevention is always the smartest, kindest choice we can make for our families! Stopping dengue before it starts — saves lives, keeps our little ones strong, and means fewer worries and hospital visits for everyone. And this works best when we stand together: community engagement is our superpower! When every household checks their yard, every neighbor reminds each other, and every family follows these simple steps, we build a big, strong shield that mosquitoes can never get past. We’re not just protecting our own homes — we’re caring for the whole community!
THE 5 STEPS TO BEAT DENGUE:
1. SEARCH AND DESTROY Mosquitoes love hiding in still water! Check your flower pots, old tires, cans, gutters, and even bottle caps every single week. Dump out any stagnant water, scrub those containers clean, and cover water storage properly take away their breeding spots, and we take away their home!
2. SELF-PROTECT Keep those bites away! Wear long sleeves and pants when you’re outdoors, use safe mosquito repellent, and sleep under nets or in screened rooms. Small habits keep you and your loved ones safe all day and night!
3. SEEK CONSULTATION RIGHT AWAY Don’t wait! If anyone in your home has a high fever, bad headache, pain behind the eyes, body rashes, or joint and muscle pain head straight to your nearest Barangay Health Center or clinic. Early check-up means faster help, and faster help saves lives!
4. SUPPORT FOGGING IN OUTBREAK AREAS When our health teams do fogging in places with confirmed dengue cases, please welcome them! Clear your pathways, keep windows open as advised, and help spread the word, this quick action stops the spread fast and protects our most vulnerable neighbors.
5. SUSTAIN HYDRATION Healthy bodies fight harder! Drink plenty of clean water, fruit juice, and nourishing fluids every day especially children, elders, and anyone feeling unwell. Staying hydrated keeps your strength up and helps your body recover faster!
Let’s do this together! One small step from you, one kind reminder to a neighbor, and one community united , that’s how we make our city dengue-free and safe for all!
