Beyond preparing classrooms for the opening of classes, MORPPO intensified its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of learners, educators, and the community.

As part of the initiative, police personnel conducted information drives, seminars, and lectures for students, parents, and teachers on various safety, security, and awareness topics, fostering a more informed, vigilant, and resilient school environment for the upcoming academic year.

As Brigada Eskwela 2026 continues to bring communities together in preparing schools for the opening of classes, personnel of the Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office (MORPPO) under the leadership of PCOL AL M ABANALES, Provincial Director took part in a meaningful mission at Villanueva National High School, Brgy. Looc, Villanueva, Misamis Oriental not with paintbrushes and brooms alone, but with knowledge that can protect lives.

Students actively participated in informative discussions on RA 7610, Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC), Mental Health Awareness, and the harmful effects of illegal drugs. These timely lectures equipped learners with valuable insights to help them recognize threats, make responsible choices, and become advocates of safety within their school and community.

Through initiatives like this, MORPPO continues to prove that protecting the youth goes beyond law enforcement it starts with education, awareness, and genuine community partnership.

Under the leadership of PCOL AL M ABANALES, Provincial Director of the Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office (MORPPO), a lecture on Social Media Awareness, Republic Act No. 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004), Republic Act No. 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act), and Republic Act No. 8353 (Anti-Rape Law of 1997) was conducted during the Brigada Eskwela 2026 activities at Dayawan Elementary School, Villanueva, Misamis Oriental.

The activity was held in coordination with Dayawan Elementary School, headed by Mr. Joneil A. Gomez, School Principal. In behalf of Mr. Gomez, Ms. Geralyn A. Velarde, Officer-in-Charge, warmly welcomed the personnel of MORPPO and expressed her appreciation for their presence and valuable role as lecturers in educating the school community on important social and legal concerns.

The lecture was attended by parents, students and teachers, who actively participated in the discussion and gained valuable knowledge on child protection, violence prevention, and responsible use of social media.

In his message, PCOL AL M ABANALES emphasized the importance of understanding these vital laws and social issues. He encouraged all participants to share the knowledge they acquired with their families, friends, and communities. He further stressed that awareness, vigilance, and education are essential in protecting children and families from abuse, exploitation, violence, and online threats, thereby fostering a safer, more informed, and resilient community.

The Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office (MORPPO), under the leadership of ๐—ฃ๐—–๐—ข๐—Ÿ ๐—”๐—Ÿ ๐—  ๐—”๐—•๐—”๐—ก๐—”๐—Ÿ๐—˜๐—ฆ, conducted an Information and Awareness Lecture for parents, students, teachers, and community stakeholders during the Brigada Eskwela 2026 at Vicente N. Chaves Memorial Central School, Villanueva, Misamis Oriental.

The activity was warmly welcomed by Dr. Rubiriza P. Molina, School head who expressed appreciation for MORPPO's continued efforts in promoting awareness and educating the community. Prior to the start of the program, Ms. Lhyndee Fe S. Cubillan, introduced the resource speakers, namely PCPT NELLYBETH O DABLIO, Chief of the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD), together with PMSg Ma. Lourdes E Heresilles and PMSg Rhona May L Taban, both WCPD personnel.

The lecture focused on Social Media Awareness, emphasizing the risks and dangers that children commonly face in the online environment. Discussions also covered Republic Act No. 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004), Republic Act No. 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act), and Republic Act No. 8353 (Anti-Rape Law of 1997), highlighting the rights and protection of women and children against various forms of abuse and exploitation.

Following the lecture, Ms. Paulina T. Sabacajan delivered the closing remarks and expressed her gratitude to the Philippine National Police, particularly MORPPO, for sharing valuable information and knowledge that would greatly benefit the students, parents, and the entire school community.

This worthwhile undertaking aims to equip PNP personnel with practical and productive skills in Welding, Electrical Installation, Plumbing, and Small Engine Repair, fostering personal growth, self-reliance, and enhanced capability beyond law enforcement duties.
The activity was highlighted by inspirational and knowledge-filled lectures delivered by the team from River of Life Love for the Philippines, namely Pastor Michael N. Balanay, Pastor Carish S. Abugho, Pastora Arlyn V. Abugho, John Loui P. Orcullo, Bishop Arlex S. Abugho, and Kent Marvin P. Baguio, who shared their expertise and insights to inspire participants towards continuous learning and skills enhancement.

Through the steadfast support of PCOL AL M ABANALES and the collaborative efforts of MORPPO and River of Life Love for the Philippines, this initiative underscores the organization's commitment to developing well-rounded police officers who are not only guardians of peace and order but also empowered individuals capable of contributing positively to their families and communities.
