Valencia City, Bukidnon | City Local Government Operations Officer (CLGOO) Jan Eric L. Manasan conducted supervisory visits to Barangay Mt. Nebo, Barangay Lilingayon, and Barangay Lurugan on August 5, 2026.

The visit to Barangay Mt. Nebo focused on providing technical assistance and guidance on Barangay operations. Key discussions included the importance of Peace and Order, Committee Hearings, and the conduct of regular sessions for IPMR/Tribal Leaders to tackle community concerns, as well as SK Council sessions to plan and monitor youth activities and programs.

During the visits to Barangay Lilingayon and Barangay Lurugan, various concerns raised by the Barangays were also addressed.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | The Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation of Valencia City successfully conducted its 23rd Regular Session presided by SK Federation President Hon. John Legeil P. Estoquia, with the participation of SK Federation members and the presence of the Valencia City Youth Development Office (VCYDO). The session served as an important venue to discuss matters affecting youth governance, strengthen coordination among SK officials, and reinforce their commitment to effective and accountable public service.

During the session, CLGOO Jan Eric L. Manasan, presented key DILG advisories and provided updates on essential compliance requirements. Among the matters discussed were the submission of the SK Inventory Team, reminders on the timely submission of 2nd Quarter reports, and the preparation of the Initial Inventory and Turnover in anticipation of the upcoming elections. CLGOO Manasan emphasized the importance of adhering to prescribed guidelines and timelines to ensure transparency, accountability, and the smooth transition of records and responsibilities, while encouraging all SK officials to remain proactive in fulfilling their duties and sustaining responsive youth governance. 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗕𝘂𝗸𝗶𝗱𝗻𝗼𝗻 | The officials of Barangay Batangan, led by Punong Barangay Era Salces, conducted a One-Day Enhancement Training for Barangay Tanods earlier today, August 4, 2026, at UNO Hotel, Valencia City, Bukidnon. The training aimed to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and capabilities of the barangay tanods in the performance of their duties, while reinforcing their understanding of their roles, responsibilities, and limitations as peace and order advocates in the barangay. Through this activity, the barangay government reaffirmed its commitment to promoting peace, public safety, and effective community service.

During the activity, Fiscal Virgil Tan, Jr. of City Prosecutor's Office served as the first resource speaker, sharing his expertise on the jurisprudence and the limitations of barangay tanods under the law. The discussion was both informative and engaging, as Fiscal Tan employed an interactive question-and-answer approach that encouraged active participation from the attendees. His practical insights and relatable examples made the session more meaningful and easier for the participants to understand and appreciate.

In addition, PMSg Michael Garcia from the PNP Valencia, discussed the vital role of Barangay Tanods in maintaining peace and order, emphasizing their responsibilities in crime prevention and the importance of close coordination with the PNP to ensure a safer and more secure community.

Further, City Local Government Operation Officer Jan Eric L. Manasan, MGA, delivered a discussion on the roles and responsibilities of Barangay Tanods under existing laws and the policies of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). He emphasized the importance of understanding the legal framework governing their functions to ensure the proper and effective performance of their duties in maintaining peace and order within the community.

Through this initiative, the Barangay Government of Batangan continues to empower its Barangay Tanods by equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively perform their duties and responsibilities in serving the community.

Manasan, held a coordination meeting with representatives from the 89th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army today, August 3, 2026, at the DILG Valencia City Field Office.

The meeting focused on addressing current concerns, discussing appropriate interventions, and deliberating on other significant matters for information to strengthen transparency, and enhance inter-agency coordination, as well as the discussion on the Stable Internal Peace and Security (SIPS). The activity was facilitated by PSWD through Ms. Kaye Laureto, attended by City Administrator Atty. Heinz Guderian L. Villanueva, City Social Welfare and Development Officer Yvonne Y. Sapanta, Punong Barangay Robert A. Boje, and representative from the Philippine Army.

During the activity, CLGOO Jan Eric L. Manasan delivered the closing message, commending for the successful completion of the interventions designed to promote peaceful reintegration into society. 𝘝𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘢 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘉𝘶𝘬𝘪𝘥𝘯𝘰𝘯 | City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) successfully conducted its 3rd Quarter Regular Meeting, held at City Mayors Office conference room on July 28, 2026.

In behalf of City Mayor Amie G. Galario, CLGOO Jan Eric L. Manasan attended the meeting gathered by the council members. CDRRM Officer June Ray A. Valero presented updates on flash flood incidents, landslide incidents, water shortage and electrocution incidents and proposed projects for CY 2027. The activity served as a venue to strengthen inter-agency coordination, address current concerns, and identify priority actions aimed at enhancing Valencia City's resilience against natural and human-induced hazards. 𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), represented by CLGOO Jan Manasan, actively participated in the regular Departmental Meeting presided over by Atty. Heinz Villanueva, City Administrator. The monthly meeting serves as an important venue for discussing significant updates, addressing pressing concerns, and strengthening coordination among all departments to ensure the efficient delivery of public services and the overall welfare of the locality.

During the meeting, CLGOO Manasan presented the following updates and reminders for the guidance and appropriate action of all concerned Department Heads:

1. GPK Provincial Assessment scheduled on July 30, 2026;
2. Submission of LCAT-VAWC documentary requirements;
3. Status of the Rice Assistance Program;
4. Fuel Price Monitoring and timely compliance with the required reports;
5. Submission of the Barangay Citizen's Charter Report; and
6. Other priority concerns requiring the immediate attention and cooperation of the concerned offices.

The DILG emphasized the importance of timely compliance with these requirements to ensure the City's continued adherence to national policies, improve governance, and support the effective implementation of programs and services that directly benefit the constituents. All concerned departments are encouraged to closely coordinate with the DILG and submit the required reports within the prescribed timelines.

𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗿𝘂𝗴-𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆𝘀

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | Valencia City participated in the validation for the retention of the drug-cleared status of 16 barangays. The validation aimed to assess the continued implementation of anti-illegal drug initiatives and the sustained efforts of the barangays in maintaining safe, peaceful, and drug-free communities.

The activity was conducted by the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing, chaired by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region X. Following the validation, 14 barangays successfully retained their drug-cleared status, while two barangays were identified to comply with the necessary requirements. The City Government extends its appreciation to CADAC Focal Coordinator Giovanni Asis and his team for their continued support and assistance to the barangays, as well as to the DILG Valencia City Field Office for its active participation and support.

The activity reflects the City Government's commitment to strengthening its anti-illegal drug campaign and sustaining the gains of drug-cleared communities. Appreciation is likewise extended to City Mayor Amie G. Galario for her continued support and leadership in advancing the City's efforts toward safer, healthier, and more resilient communities.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | The City Government of Valencia, in coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and other selected offices, successfully conducted the Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) Plan Mid-Year Assessment earlier today, July 23, 2026, at Jocel’s Garden, Valencia City, Bukidnon.

The activity was attended by City Mayor Amie G. Galario, together with City Vice Mayor Greizl Galario-Fernandez and Public Safety Consultant and Former Mayor Jose M Galario, Jr.

During the activity, CLGOO Jan Eric L. Manasan, MGA presented updates on the Peace and Order initiatives, including implementation and accomplishment reports. He also reminded council members and department representatives to ensure effective program implementation, policy compliance, and continued collaboration in maintaining peace, order, and public safety.

The activity served as a venue to review priority programs, identify emerging concerns, and strengthen strategies for public safety and community resilience.
