Under the SGLGB, barangays are assessed in the areas of Core Governance and Essential Governance Areas. Meanwhile, the LLA recognizes legislative accomplishments that support effective local governance and community development.

𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗕𝘂𝗸𝗶𝗱𝗻𝗼𝗻 | CLGOO Jan Eric L. Manasan delivered an inspiring message during the Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program (CBDRP) Developmental Forum held at the CAP Building today, June 4, 2026. In his address, he emphasized that the City Government—together with City Mayor Amie Galario, Vice Mayor Greizl Fernandez, Sangguniang Panlungsod members, barangay officials, program facilitators, and stakeholders—warmly welcomes and supports all CBDRP completers on their journey.

He highlighted that the occasion honors the courage, discipline, and commitment of individuals who chose recovery and transformation.

He noted that the CBDRP focuses on healing, guidance, and reintegration over punishment—giving completers a genuine chance to rebuild their lives, restore relationships, and become productive members of society.

Furthermore, CLGOO Manasan recognized the vital role of barangay officials as partners, mentors, and frontliners in drug prevention, rehabilitation, and livelihood support. He stressed that through unity, compassion, and continued collaboration, the city builds safer, healthier, and drug-free communities for everyone.

Nebo, and San Carlos earlier today, June 2, 2026, as they undergo a comprehensive review of their governance practices and compliance with established standard Indicators.

The assessment aims to determine the effectiveness of local governance initiatives, ensuring that barangays maintain transparency, accountability, responsiveness, and excellence in public service delivery.

Through this assessment, the barangays are encouraged to sustain best practices, strengthen institutional performance, and uphold quality governance for the benefit of their constituents.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | The 5th Day of the SGLGB-LLA Assessment 2026 was successfully conducted in the barangays of Laligan, Dagatkidavao, Concepcion, and Banlag. The activity was spearheaded by Team Leaders Ms. Jennifer Salazar and Ar. Bjorn Dan Didaagon, together with LGOO II Venus Irish Galarrita, who facilitated the validation and assessment processes in accordance with the standards of good local governance and local legislation administration.

The assessment highlighted the commitment of the participating barangays in upholding transparency, accountability, responsiveness, and effective public service delivery. Through the collective efforts of barangay officials and stakeholders, the activity served as an avenue to further strengthen local governance mechanisms and promote excellence in barangay administration.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | The SGLGB and LLA Assessment Teams continued the CY 2026 SGLGB and LLA Assessments on May 26, 2026.

The SGLGB Assessment Team was composed of representatives from the City Planning and Development Office, Department of the Interior and Local Government, City Environment and Natural Resources Office, City Treasurer’s Office, City Accounting Office, City Budget Office, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office, Business Permits and Licensing Division, Liga ng mga Barangay – Valencia City Chapter, Local Youth Development Office, Sangguniang Panlungsod Office, City Nutrition Office, City Health Office, City Anti-Drug Abuse Council Office, and City Agriculture Office.
Meanwhile, the LLA Assessment Team was composed of representatives from the Sangguniang Panlungsod Office, Department of the Interior and Local Government, and City Planning and Development Office.

The continued conduct of these assessments reflects the commitment of the City Government of Valencia and participating barangays to promoting effective governance, accountability, and responsive public service delivery.

The assessment also recognizes the exemplary legislative performance of the Sangguniang Barangays in addressing community needs and contributing to local development initiatives.

The SGLGB is a progressive performance assessment that challenges barangays to uphold the standard of transparency, integrity and quality service delivery across core and essential areas, while the LLA is an initiative that recognizes exemplary performance of the Sangguniang Barangay in their legislative functions that respond to the needs of the community and contribute to local development.

𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗕𝘂𝗸𝗶𝗱𝗻𝗼𝗻 │ In line with its commitment to promote peace and strengthen community-based conflict resolution, Barangay Poblacion successfully conducted an Enhancement Training Seminar for the Lupong Tagapamayapa at Roy’s Bistro, Valencia City, earlier today.

During the activity, Mr. Jan Eric L. Manasan, MGA guided the Lupon members through the proper Katarungang Pambarangay process—from receiving complaints and issuing notices and summons, to conducting mediation and conciliation within the required timelines, up to handling settlements, repudiation, and the issuance of the Certificate to File Action. The discussion served as a refresher on the correct procedures to follow when resolving disputes at the barangay level.

Moreover, the Lupon was also oriented by Ms. Venus Irish J. Gawingan-Galarrita on the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA), emphasizing how proper documentation, organized records, timely reports, and regular meetings contribute not only to effective KP implementation but also to readiness for the LTIA assessment.

Through this training, Barangay Poblacion further equipped its Lupong Tagapamayapa with the knowledge and guidance needed to deliver fair, organized, and responsive barangay justice to the community.
