PCF Concludes Its First National Book Week with an Inspiring Ceremony of Recognition and Achievement
The Philippine College Foundation Main Library blossomed with creativity and gratitude on November 28, 2025, as the institution marked the Closing and Awarding Ceremony of the 91st National Book Week Celebration, carrying the inspiring theme “Tuloy ang Pagbasa sa Bukas na Puno ng pag-asa.” Moreover, what made this moment even more meaningful was the fact that this year marked the very first National Book Week ever held at the Philippine College Foundation. This highlights PCF’s commitment to fostering a strong culture of reading and lifelong learning among its students.
The ceremony officially opened with a Welcome Address by Chief Librarian Zenaida L. Caballero, RL, MLS, who expressed her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to this celebration. Her message honored the students, faculty, and staff who supported the event, acknowledging the collective effort that made the celebration successful.
Following this was Ma’am Frenchelle Dawn Tangkilan, who delivered the Opening Message, reminding the audience of the enduring magic of books. She encouraged everyone to continue their journey, quoting, “Books are gateways to adventure, gateways to education, and gateways to new worlds of imagination.”
The ceremony’s most awaited moment was the Awarding of Winners, recognizing students who showcased exceptional artistry, creativity, and dedication:

To further honor collaboration, Certificates of Recognition were awarded to the Supreme Student Council and The Driftwood, the official school publication, for serving as dedicated facilitators throughout this very first Book Week. Their involvement ensured the smooth flow of activities and helped build an atmosphere of enthusiasm across the campus.
A Special Certificate of Recognition was given to the School of Criminal Justice Education, recognized as the PCF Library’s Most Frequent Visitor in the departmental category—a reflection of their strong engagement and love for reading.
Adding a heartwarming touch to the program was a birthday celebration for Ma’am Abbie Ederosas, the ever-energetic Master of Ceremony throughout the event, drawing cheerful applause from the audience. The mood grew even more special as Ma’am Vanessa Sison and Ma’am Hazel Jean Otida offered a meaningful and soulful song performance, their voices echoing the warmth and unity of the event.
To officially close the ceremony, Ma’am Arhleen A. Arat, MPA, encouraged everyone to continue nurturing curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep love for knowledge. “May we keep turning pages toward a brighter and wiser future,” she said—words that resonated deeply as the first Book Week celebration came to an inspiring end.
This event marked not just an ending, but a beginning. It was a promise—a commitment to uphold literacy and the power of reading and sharing one’s learning. With hearts full of hope and imaginations ready to soar, the PCF community steps forward together, looking ahead to more celebrations in the years to come.
