In observance of Maulidur Rasul, the Municipality of Turtle Islands held a colorful and meaningful parade participated in by religious leaders, teachers, young murid from various Madrasahs, local officials, and members of the community.

Following the parade, a special program was held at the Municipal Covered Court, where everyone gathered to remember the life, teachings, and noble example of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam)—his message of faith, love, kindness, humility, and unity.

The commemoration was led by Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Hji. Mohammad Faizal H. Jamalul, together with Ustadz Sherhan Ismael and the religious teachers from across the Municipality of Turtle Islands.

Also joining this meaningful occasion were former Municipal Mayor Hon. Benie C. Oliveros, Hon. Abdulla M. Sangkula, Hon. Michael J. Jaal, Hon. John Randolf Y. Nieveras, and our beloved raayat of Turtle Islands.

May the noble teachings and example of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) remain in our hearts and be reflected in our daily lives. May we continue to stand united in faith, love, compassion, and service to our fellow people and community.

Alhamdulillah! Another historic milestone was celebrated through the successful Inauguration of Balay Silangan in the Municipality of Turtle Islands—officially recognized as the first Drug-Cleared Municipality in the Province of Tawi-Tawi and the entire BARMM Region.

The inauguration of Balay Silangan represents our municipality’s continuing commitment to rehabilitation, recovery, public safety, and the establishment of a peaceful and drug-free community. This remarkable achievement was made possible through the unity, dedication, and collective efforts of the Local Government Unit, national and regional agencies, barangay officials, uniformed personnel, community leaders, and the entire people of Turtle Islands.

The Local Government Unit of Turtle Islands welcomed and assisted the visiting engineering team from the Ministry of Public Works (MPW) during the conduct of a site validation and assessment for proposed infrastructure projects in Taganak, Turtle Islands.

The MPW team inspected and identified the proposed locations for the construction of two (2) helipads at Taganak Hilltop and a covered court at Sitio Landing. The activity included an on-site assessment to determine the suitability of the identified areas for the proposed developments.

The visiting MPW Party was composed of:

The Local Government Unit of Turtle Islands, led by OIC Hon. Abdulla M. Sangkula, together with Municipal Tourism Officer Abrille Y. Oraiz, the dedicated staff of the Municipal Tourism Office, and personnel from the Philippine Marines, warmly welcomed the visiting delegation upon their arrival aboard a helicopter at Taganak Hilltop for the conduct of the Site Validation Activity in Taganak.

The visiting delegation, composed of representatives from the Ministry of Public Works (MPW) and TOG SulTaw, conducted a site validation for the proposed installation of two (2) helipads at Taganak Hilltop and the construction of a covered court at Sitio Landing.

The visit forms part of continuing development initiatives aimed at strengthening local infrastructure and supporting the needs of the Municipality of Turtle Islands.

The Local Government Unit of Turtle Islands conducted its regular Monday Flag-Raising Ceremony, bringing together municipal employees, local offices, national government line agencies, uniformed personnel, barangay officials and personnel, and community workforce groups in a meaningful display of unity, patriotism, and commitment to public service. 🇵🇭

Present during the ceremony were Municipal Tourism Officer Abrille Y. Oraiz and the Municipal Tourism Office staff, together with representatives and personnel from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Marine Corps, Philippine Navy, PNP Maritime Group/SOU, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Energy (MENRE), Ministry of Health (MOH), Barangay Poblacion, Barangay Likud Bakkao, Cagayan Electric Power and Light Company (CASELCO), Municipal Force, Sahaya Sin Kawman, and other municipal employees and personnel.

The weekly flag ceremony is more than a tradition—it is a reminder of the shared responsibility of every government worker and partner agency to serve with integrity, discipline, unity, and dedication.

A visit to Taganak would not be complete without leaving a mark at our Freedom Wall—a special space where visitors write their names, signatures, and messages as a lasting remembrance of their journey to Turtle Islands.

As part of their visit, our distinguished guests from the Philippine Air Force proudly added their signatures and messages to the wall, leaving behind a permanent reminder that they once set foot on the beautiful shores of Turtle Islands.

More than just writings on a wall, every name, signature, and message becomes part of the story of our municipality. As we continue to preserve and develop this space, we envision these walls becoming a living collection of memories—one that future generations and visitors can look back on and discover the many people who have journeyed to this unique corner of the Philippines.

Alhamdulillah! Our distinguished visitors from the Philippine Air Force had the meaningful opportunity to experience one of Turtle Islands’ most treasured conservation activities—the release of 43 Green Sea Turtle hatchlings into the sea.

More than just an activity, the hatchling release serves as a reminder of our shared responsibility to protect our marine wildlife and preserve our natural heritage for future generations.

We are grateful that our visitors were able to take part in this memorable conservation experience during their stay in Turtle Islands.

May these tiny hatchlings safely begin their journey into the vast sea and, Insha’Allah, one day return to the shores where their journey began. 🐢🌊💚

The Local Government Unit of Turtle Islands warmly welcomed the visiting Philippine Air Force delegation who arrived aboard a Black Hawk helicopter at approximately 7:00 AM in Taganak, Turtle Islands, Tawi-Tawi.

The delegation was composed of:

• BGEN AMADO V. DELA PAZ PAF
• COL RHOSSEL R. DUQUE PAF (MNSA)
• LTC GHIESEL MAEL GOC-ONG PAF
• LTC RESTIE I. MENDOZA PAF
• CPT MARK VOCAMPO PAF
• COL MARK ALLAN I. GAVILAN PAF (GSC)
• and other members of the visiting party.

Upon their arrival, the distinguished guests were accorded a warm traditional welcome by the Municipal Tourism Office through the SIHNAG Troupe Performing Arts. Beautiful garlands were presented to the visitors, followed by a vibrant cultural dance presentation at the scenic Taganak Hilltop, proudly showcasing the rich culture, traditions, and warm hospitality of the people of Turtle Islands.

Present to personally welcome the delegation were OIC Hon. Abdulla M. Sangkula, Municipal Tourism Officer Abrille Y. Oraiz, together with personnel from the Philippine Marines and Philippine Navy.

Following the welcome ceremony, the delegation proceeded to the Municipal Hall for a courtesy call at the Office of the Municipal Mayor.

The successful reception of our distinguished visitors was made possible through the unwavering support and leadership of Municipal Mayor Hon. Hja. Jay Sayang L. Jamalul and Vice Mayor Hon. Hji. Mohammad Faizal H. Jamalul, whose continued commitment to the programs and initiatives of the Local Government Unit greatly contributes to promoting the culture, hospitality, and identity of Turtle Islands.

The Local Government Unit of Turtle Islands extends its sincere appreciation to BGEN Amado V. Dela Paz PAF and the entire delegation for visiting our municipality.
