Strengthening Peace and Unity

Look// On August 11, 2026, LTC DRANREB F CANTO INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer of the 6th Infantry (Redskin) Battalion, spearheaded a vital community consultation at the Barangay Hall of Lapu, Polomolok, South Cotabato with local leaders headed by Hon. Fahodey K Nilong, Barangay Chairman of Barangay Lapu, Polomolok, South Cotabato. The collaborative dialogue brought together key community stakeholders and Former Violent Extremists (FVEs) to assess current security conditions, evaluate ongoing peace initiatives, and address the specific developmental needs of the area.

The exchange allowed stakeholders to discuss local progress, reinforce security measures, and foster stronger trust between the community and the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Through these sustained collaborative efforts, the 6th Infantry (Redskin) Battalion remains steadfast in ensuring a safe, stable, and progressive environment for the people of Polomolok.

6th Infantry "REDSKIN" Battalion Participates in SOCCSKSARGEN Youth Volunteers Camp and Summit 2026

TANTANGAN, South Cotabato – Demonstrating its commitment to empowering the youth, the 6th Infantry "REDSKIN" Battalion, 6th Infantry (KAMPILAN) Division, Philippine Army, under the leadership of Commanding Officer, LTC DRANREB F CANTO INF (GSC) PA, actively participated in the SOCCSKSARGEN Youth Volunteers Camp and Summit 2026, held on July 23 to 26, 2026, at Tantangan National High School, Poblacion, Tantangan, South Cotabato.

Carrying the theme "Rise Up Generation: Skills for Life, Strength for the Nation," the four-day summit brought together youth leaders from schools, universities, the Sangguniang Kabataan, youth organizations, and the PAG-ASA Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) across Region XII. The event was hosted by the Provincial Government of South Cotabato through the SOCCSKSARGEN Youth Volunteers Program (SYVP), headed by Mr. Raffy Esparagoza Ormita. Hon. Emmylou J. Taliño-Mendoza, MNSA, Chairperson of the Regional Development Council XII and Governor of the Province of Cotabato, served as keynote speaker.

Participants engaged in lectures and activities on leadership, resilience, volunteerism, and civic responsibility. On Day 1, the battalion conducted lectures on Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) Awareness, a tactical hostage demonstration, a static display by the Scout Platoon, and a guidon-making activity, building awareness of national security issues while fostering teamwork and discipline.

Day 2 featured Tactical Combat Casualty Care led by the personnel of this unit, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Preparedness sessions led by Mr. Omar A. Isip, CPE, EMT of the Philippine Red Cross–South Cotabato Chapter. Other sessions included Fire Safety Awareness by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Teenage Pregnancy Awareness by Mr. Michael E. Dionio of the Provincial Population Office, Mental Health Awareness by Ms. Karah Ket P. Baliton, RPm of the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), and lectures on map reading and knot tying by 6IB personnel.

On Day 3, battalion personnel led practical map-reading exercises and an Amazing Race, giving participants navigation and survival skills while reinforcing leadership, discipline, and teamwork.

The summit's success was made possible through the collaboration of the Department of Economy, Planning and Development–Region XII, the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA), the Provincial Youth Development Office (PYDO) of South Cotabato (represented by Ms. Jobeelyn Baitus-Corrila), the PYDO of Cotabato Province (represented by Ms. Laarni Blase), the SOCCSKARGEN Youth Volunteers Program (SYVP), the 1204th Community Defense Center, the National Youth Commission (NYC), the Department of Migrant Workers–Region XII, the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA), the PAG-ASA Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP), and the 6th Infantry "REDSKIN" Battalion.

Through its participation, the 6th Infantry "REDSKIN" Battalion reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing informed, resilient, and patriotic young leaders who will help build peace, security, and sustainable development throughout SOCCSKSARGEN and the nation.

UNITED IN SERVICE: 6IB JOINS STAKEHOLDERS FOR HADR OPERATIONS IN PALIMBANG

Demonstrating an unyielding commitment to the people, the personnel of the 6th Infantry (Redskin) Battalion, 6ID, PA are working hand-in-hand with partner stakeholders to execute critical Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) and rescue operations for families and residents affected by flash floods.

On 23 July 2026, troops deployed alongside local partners assisted residents in Brgy. Libua, Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat, who were affected by flash floods. They were operating shoulder-to-shoulder with Baira A. Lagdamin of LDRRMO Palimbang and the dedicated team led by SN1 Darwin T. Delgado, PCG Team Leader of Coast Guard Sub-Station Palimbang.

This inter-agency collaboration brought together the 6th Infantry (Redskin) Battalion, 6ID, PA, LDRRMO Palimbang, and Coast Guard Sub-Station Palimbang to serve the community.

This seamless synergy between the Philippine Army, local disaster management offices, and maritime units reflects our shared vow: to stand as one shield and a beacon of hope for the communities we serve, ensuring that no Filipino is left behind.
