The 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗕𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 held a committee hearing on the proposed BDO Salary Loan Program.

The primary purpose of this hearing is to ensure that LGU employees are protected — not only through safe and reliable loan options, but also by equipping them with knowledge via Financial Literacy and Retirement Planning Seminars.

BDO Network Bank expressed its readiness to conduct these seminars for LGU employees, an initiative designed to empower our workforce with practical knowledge for financial stability and future preparedness.

The Sangguniang Bayan of Tunga held its Regular Session, highlighting the Second Reading of the Proposed Ordinance entitled: “𝗔𝗻 𝗢𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮.” This measure seeks to institutionalize stronger safeguards for students and school communities, ensuring their safety and well‑being through coordinated efforts of the LGU, barangays, schools, and other stakeholders.

In the same session, the Council also approved a 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗞𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗞𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻, 𝗗𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗮 𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺𝗼 (𝗞𝗞𝟮𝗗𝗔𝗧) 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, reinforcing the local government’s commitment to youth empowerment, crime prevention, anti‑drug advocacy, and community resilience against terrorism.

Also in attendance were Hon. Florentina A. Obsequio, Liga ng mga Barangay President, Hon. Mateo F. Tanala, Punong Barangay of Brgy. San Vicente, Engr. Marlon B. Arintoc, MPDC, and Mr. Joselito C. Baltar together with Mr. Michael Cotoner, representatives from the Municipal Treasurer’s Office.

While the Committee recognizes the increase in transport operating costs, it likewise acknowledges the economic burden borne by the riding public due to inflation. In line with the mandate of the Local Government Code of 1991 (RA 7160, Sec. 147) and the DILG–DOF Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2019-01, the Sangguniang Bayan is duty-bound to ensure that any fare adjustment is just, reasonable, and considerate of both transport operators and commuters. Accordingly, the determination of any fare adjustment shall not be based solely on fuel prices but shall consider all relevant economic, financial, and social factors.

The 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗴𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮, 𝗟𝗲𝘆𝘁𝗲 convened its Regular Session today and approved significant measures for community welfare and governance:

3) An Ordinance Prohibiting the Act of Being Topless or Half‑Naked in Public Places within the Municipality of Tunga, Leyte.

Authorization for the Municipal Mayor, on behalf of the LGU, to enter into and sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) for the conduct of Mobile Registration in LGU Tunga under the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP).

Together, these actions reflect our commitment to public order, environmental stewardship, and inclusive governance.

𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐄 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 | 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

The 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗴𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮 conducted a committee hearing on the proposed ordinance entitled:

“Comprehensive Protection and Security Measures for Students in All Schools in the Municipality of Tunga.”

This initiative is anchored on 𝗗𝗜𝗟𝗚 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗺 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗡𝗼. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲‑𝟬𝟯𝟳, “𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗭𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 (𝗦𝗦𝗭) 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲,” which institutionalizes safer school zones to strengthen public safety in and around school communities through enhanced coordination among LGUs, barangays, schools, the Philippine National Police (PNP), and other stakeholders. It also draws guidance from the 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗺 𝗡𝗼. 𝟮𝟳𝟭, 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, on strengthening school security and safety measures in all public schools. Furthermore, the ordinance is grounded on 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗡𝗼. 𝟳𝟲𝟭𝟬 (𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗲, 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁) 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗘𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀, mandating rigorous safeguards to protect the physical, psychological, and digital safety of learners.

This collaborative effort underscores the municipality’s commitment to 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆‑𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆.
