𝐂𝐆𝐃𝐍𝐄𝐋𝐙𝐍’𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐖𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞𝐫𝐬

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Coast Guard District North Eastern Luzon (CGDNELZN) conducted the Graduation Ceremony of the Water Safety, Rescue, and Survival Techniques (WASAR) Training Class 20-2025, composed of thirty-seven (37) personnel, at San Vicente, Sta. Ana, Cagayan on August 8, 2025.

The training strengthened the participants’ maritime search and rescue capabilities, equipping them with essential knowledge and skills in basic life-saving, personal safety, water survival, and search and rescue operations. This milestone underscores the Philippine Coast Guard’s commitment to building a capable and resilient force, ready to safeguard lives and property along the nation’s maritime borders.

The program was facilitated by the Special Operations Group (SOG-NELZN), Coast Guard Medical Service (CGMED-NELZN), and Coast Guard Nursing Service (CGNS-NELZN).

𝐂𝐆𝐃𝐍𝐄𝐋𝐙𝐍 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐀𝐑 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠

𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤: The Coast Guard District North Eastern Luzon convened Water Safety, Rescue, and Survival Techniques (WASAR) Training Class 20-2025, composed of thirty-seven (37) personnel, in collaboration with the Special Operations Group (SOG-NELZN), Coast Guard Medical Service (CGMED-NELZN), and Coast Guard Nursing Service (CGNS-NELZN) at San Vicente, Sta. Ana, Cagayan, on August 4, 2025.

The personnel will undergo comprehensive training that includes an introduction to basic life support, first aid, rescue and life-saving techniques, and underwater skills such as knot tying and water entries and exits, as well as boat handling, concluding with a one (1) mile swim.

This training enhances CGDNELZN personnel's maritime search and rescue skills, highlighting the Philippine Coast Guard's commitment to developing a capable and resilient force dedicated to efficiently safeguarding lives and property along our maritime borders.

𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐓𝐢𝐞𝐬

𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤: The Coast Guard District North Eastern Luzon, headed by its District Commander Commodore Gary Dale C Gimotea PCG, engaged with Rear Admiral Jeromy Williams, SOCPAC Commander, and other agencies at Naval Base Camilo Osias, Brgy. San Vicente, Santa Ana, Cagayan, on May 22, 2025.

The meeting between Commodore Gimotea and Admiral Williams and other agencies strengthened existing bonds and underscored the commitment to enhancing collaboration in regional security efforts.

Through these engagements, the Coast Guard District North Eastern Luzon and its U.S. counterparts aimed to reinforce strategic alliances in addressing shared challenges in the region.

LOOK: In preparation for "OPLAN BIYAHENG AYOS: SEMANA SANTA AND SUMMER VACATION 2025," Coast Guard District North Eastern Luzon under the leadership of its District Commander COMMO GARY DALE C GIMOTEA PCG including its Stations, Sub-stations, and Operational Control (OPCON) Units Commanders, has been placed on Heightened Alert Status and activated its Deployable Response Group (DRG) to undertake proactive measures to ensure that they are prepared to rapidly address any emergencies or unforeseen circumstances that may arise within their area of responsibility.

In order to ensure the orderly operation of sea transport facilities, safe/convenient travel of the seafaring public and the safety and security of resort visitors, every unit of this District implemented the DOTr MALASAKIT HELP DESK in all ports, harbors and appropriate areas where heavy influx of passengers are expected.

The implementation of this OPLAN aims to ensure the safety, security, dependability, and comfort of the riding public traveling during the holy week and summer vacation.

Look: The Coast Guard District North Eastern Luzon (CGDNELZN), led by District Commander Commodore Gary Dale C Gimotea PCG, together with Deputy Commander Lieutenant Commander Rochelle T Clarin PCG, conferred the convening of Maritime Tactical Skills Training 25-01.

This district, along with the United States Counterpart—Special Boat Detachment 4131 (SBD-A 4131)—and Coastal Troop THREE, will jointly conduct the Maritime Tactical Skills Training 25-01 in the vicinity of waters off Sta. Ana, Cagayan today, March 11, 2025.

The training is a combined U.S.-Philippine Military-to-Military Contact (M2MC) event, featuring 30 CGDNELZN participants and 15 U.S. troops. The curriculum includes Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), Casualty Evacuation (CASEVAC), Small Craft Handling, Small Boat Interdiction (SBI), Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (VBSS), Maritime Mission Planning, Maritime Domain Awareness, and Maritime Response.

The purpose of this training is to enhance operational effectiveness, interoperability, and security in the maritime domain of our area of responsibility. This effort reinforces the alliance, enhances defense readiness, and promotes a stronger, more secure maritime environment.

Alongside this activity are Commander of SOG-NELZN Lieutenant Commander Benjamin A Misador Jr PCG, Commander of Baywatch Patrol Unit NELZN Lieutenant Junior Grade Deborah D Magannon PCG, and Deputy Commander Baywatch Patrol Unit NELZN Ensign Chrislen B Barsatan PCG.

Also present in the activity is the Acting Station Commander of Coast Guard Station Cagayan, Lieutenant Junior Grade Anabel R Paet PCG, as well as the Commander of Coast Guard Sub-Station Sta. Ana Ensign Cyril Mark V Lominio PCG and District Master Chief Petty Officer Ferdinand S Bartolome PCG.

Today, we feature our Deputy Commander, Baywatch Patrol Unit - North Eastern Luzon, Ensign CHRISLEN B BARSATAN PCG, for the National Women’s Celebration.

The Special Operations Group-North Eastern Luzon headed by LCDR BENJAMIN . MISADOR JR. PCG received an IT equipment from the Local Government Unit of Tuguegarao City today, 10 March 2025 at the Tuguegarao City Hall.

Atty. Renz Angelo Umambong, Chief of Staff, turned over the equipment on behalf of Tuguegarao City Mayor Maila Rosario S. Ting-Que. The equipment was received by LTJG DEBORAH D MAGANNON PCG, Acting Deputy Commander of the Special Operations Group-North Eastern Luzon.

The donation, which includes a desktop computer set is intended to improve and streamline the administrative functions of the office. It also serves as a gesture of support aimed at boosting the morale of the Philippine Coast Guard personnel.
