PDEA NVPO CONDUCTS DAPE LECTURE DURING STUDENT SUMMIT 2026 IN DIADI, NUEVA VIZCAYA

On May 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM, personnel of this Office under the leadership of IA V Rosario V Abella, Provincial Officer, conducted a Drug Abuse Prevention and Education (DAPE) lecture to the Youth Leaders of Diadi, Nueva Vizcaya during their Student Summit 2026 with the theme: “KABATAANG PINANDAY NG IISANG LAYUNIN: MAGTATAGUYOD NG MAKADIYOS, MAKATAO, MAKAKALIKASAN AT MAKABAYANG BUKAS,” held at Philreca Farm, Escoting, Diadi, Nueva Vizcaya.

The following topics were discussed:
• Drug Identification
• Concept of Drug Abuse
• Ill Effects of Dangerous Drugs
• Salient Provisions of RA 9165

This activity aims to empower the students by equipping them with relevant knowledge on the harmful effects of dangerous drugs and strengthening their awareness on prevention strategies, encouraging them to become proactive partners in promoting a drug-free community.

BUY-BUST OPERATION IN SANTIAGO CITY YIELDS ARREST OF DRUG SUSPECT

On May 6, 2026, at about 4:15 PM, a joint buy-bust operation was successfully conducted by operatives of PDEA Quirino Provincial Office, in coordination with SCPO Police Station 2, PDEG SOU 2, RIU, and CDEU CIU, at Purok 1, Barangay Ambalatungan, Santiago City.

The operation resulted in the arrest of one suspect identified as alias “Dan Dan,” 46 years old, a resident of Sinamar Sur, San Mateo, Isabela.

Confiscated during the operation was one (1) small heat-sealed plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, with an estimated weight of more or less 0.6 grams and a standard drug price of Php 4,080.00. Also recovered were the buy-bust money and one mobile phone.

The suspect will be charged for violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PDEA RO2 reaffirms its commitment to intensify anti-illegal drug operations in close coordination with partner law enforcement agencies in pursuit of a drug-free community.

PDEA RO2 CONDUCTS COURTESY VISIT IN SABTANG, JOINS ADAC PERFORMANCE AUDIT RESULTS MEETING IN BATANES

Personnel of PDEA RO2 led by DIR III Gil Cesario P. Castro, Regional Director, conducted a courtesy visit to Hon. Teresita Neyala, Local Chief Executive of the Municipality of Sabtang, Batanes, and PLT Jomel Eligado, Deputy Chief of Police of Sabtang Police Station on May 6, 2026 at 10:00 AM.

Discussed during the visit was the strengthening of anti-illegal drug advocacy campaigns to sustain the drug-free status of the municipality through continuous collaboration among local government units, law enforcement agencies, and community stakeholders.

Simultaneously, personnel of PDEA Batanes Provincial Office under the leadership of IA V Romarico P. Pagulayan attended the meeting on the ADAC Performance Audit Results together with PCPT Marjorie A. Ballada of PNP BPPO and other members of the Provincial Audit Committee (PAC).

The activity was facilitated by LGOO V Ver Paolo Escobido and held at the DILG Provincial Office, Basco, Batanes.

PDEA RO2 PARTICIPATES IN CSU–CARIG CRIMINOLOGY OJT CULMINATING ACTIVITY

On May 6, 2026, at around 8:00 AM, DIR III Gil Cesario P. Castro, Regional Director of PDEA RO2, was represented by Mr. Renante Rosero, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), as one of the distinguished guests during the On-the-Job Training (OJT) Culminating Activity of the Bachelor of Science in Criminology students of Cagayan State University–Carig Campus.

The activity was held at the CICS Conference Hall, CSU–Carig Campus, Tuguegarao City, and was attended by faculty members, university officials, and graduating criminology students.

The program highlighted the students’ accomplishments, insights, and practical experiences gained throughout their OJT, emphasizing the importance of academic and field integration in preparing future law enforcement professionals.

PDEA RO2 continues to support academic institutions in strengthening the capabilities of criminology students and fostering partnerships that promote professionalism, discipline, and commitment to public service in the field of law enforcement.

JOINT PDEA RO2, PNP UNITS APPREHEND DRUG SUSPECT IN GATTARAN BUY-BUST

A joint anti-illegal drug operation conducted by the PDEA RO2 Cagayan Provincial Office, in coordination with Gattaran Municipal Police Station, PNP Drug Enforcement Group SOU 2, PNP Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 2, and RIU2 PIT Cagayan South, resulted in the successful arrest of a drug suspect on May 5, 2026, at around 5:55 PM in Brgy. Centro Sur, Gattaran, Cagayan.

The arrested suspect, identified as alias “PJ,” 36 years old, and a resident of Brgy. Baracauit, Gattaran, Cagayan, was apprehended during a buy-bust operation.

Seized from the suspect were one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substances suspected to be shabu, weighing more or less 0.5 gram with an estimated street value of Php 3,400.00; and one brown paper bag wrapped in transparent masking tape containing dried leaves with fruiting tops and stalks suspected to be ma*****na, weighing approximately 500 grams with an estimated value of Php 60,000.00. Also recovered were the buy-bust money, one cellular phone, and one white Honda Click motorcycle.

The suspect is currently under the custody of the operating units for proper disposition, while the confiscated pieces of evidence will be submitted to the PDEA RO2 Laboratory Section for examination.

Appropriate charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the suspect.

PDEA RO2 reiterates its strong commitment to intensify anti-drug operations in coordination with partner law enforcement agencies and the community, in line with the government’s campaign against illegal drugs.

The Agency likewise encourages the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities in their respective areas as part of a collective effort to achieve drug-free communities.

PDEA RO2 INAUGURATES 59TH BALAY SILANGAN REFORMATION CENTER IN BATANES

DIR III Gil Cesario P. Castro, Regional Director of PDEA Regional Office 2, attended the inauguration and blessing of the 59th Balay Silangan Reformation Center located at Barangay Kayvaluganan, Basco, Batanes, on May 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM.

The Balay Silangan Reformation Center is an initiative of the Provincial Government of Batanes, aimed at strengthening the province’s ongoing efforts toward achieving and sustaining a drug-cleared status through community-based rehabilitation and reintegration programs.

Present during the activity were Hon. Ronald P. Aguto Jr., Provincial Governor of Batanes; IA V Romarico P. Pagulayan, Provincial Officer of PDEA Batanes Provincial Office; Ms. Imelda Aquino, Provincial Director of DILG Batanes; IA III Marilyn A. Natividad, Chief of Operations Division; IA III Maryjane Gaayon, Balay Silangan Focal Person of PDEA RO2; Rev. Fr. Ronaldo Manabat; members of the Technical Working Group (TWG); department heads; and key stakeholders from partner agencies.

The establishment of the facility is in compliance with Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Regulation No. 4, Series of 2021, supporting the sustainability of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP) and strengthening efforts toward the declaration of drug-cleared municipalities and the province.

In his message, RD Castro emphasized that sustaining a drug-free community requires strong collaboration, continuous capacity-building, and shared responsibility among stakeholders. He likewise commended the Provincial Government of Batanes for its proactive initiative in institutionalizing community-based reformation programs.

The activity marks another milestone in advancing a holistic and sustainable approach to anti-drug efforts in the region.

PDEA ISABELA JOINS KEY PROVINCIAL COUNCIL MEETING, LEADS DAPE AND TOT ACTIVITIES IN MACONACON

At around 8:30 AM, IA V Jojo C. Gayuma, Provincial Officer of PDEA Isabela Provincial Office, attended the 1st Quarter Joint Meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), Provincial Development Council (PDC), and the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC). The activity was held at the GFN Dy Sr. Hall, Provincial Capitol, Alibagu, Ilagan City, Isabela.

The meeting was presided over by Hon. Francis Faustino A. Dy, Vice Governor of Isabela, with the presence of Engr. Corazon Toribio, Provincial Director of DILG, and Atty. Eduardo Cabantac, PPDC, along with other key officials.

During the meeting, the PDEA Isabela Provincial Office presented updates on the provincial drug situation, operational accomplishments, status of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program, and other relevant matters.

Earlier that day, at around 8:00 AM, a team from the Isabela Provincial Office conducted a Drug Abuse Prevention and Education (DAPE) lectures during the first day of the two-day Training of Trainers (TOT) held at the Maconacon Training Center, Brgy. Fely, Maconacon, Isabela.

The activity gathered participants from various sectors in the municipality, organized by virtue of an Executive Order issued by the Local Chief Executive (LCE), aimed at strengthening local anti-drug advocacy and capacity-building initiatives.

Later in the afternoon, at around 4:00 PM, same personnel also conducted DAPE lectures for barangay officials and fisherfolk of Brgy. Minanga, Maconacon, Isabela. A Coast Watch awareness lecture was likewise incorporated into the activity to promote coastal security and vigilance.

Present during the activity were personnel from Maconacon MPS, the Philippine Coast Guard, barangay officials, and members of the Minanga fisherfolk community.

These initiatives underscore PDEA’s continued commitment to intensifying community-based education, enhancing inter-agency collaboration, and empowering stakeholders in the collective fight against illegal drugs and other threats to public safety.

At around 1:30 PM, personnel of PDEA Isabela PO conducted a series of lectures during the Drug-Free Workplace (DFWP) orientation for LGU employees and barangay officials of Maconacon, Isabela.

The activity aimed to strengthen awareness on drug prevention, promote a drug-free working environment, and reinforce the role of local government units in supporting anti-drug initiatives.

Present during the activity were Hon. Jolly A. Taberner, Municipal Vice Mayor; Atty. Brent G. Banggolay of the LCE Office; members of the Sangguniang Bayan; department heads; LGU employees; barangay chairpersons and officials; as well as personnel from the PNP and BFP.

This initiative underscores the continued commitment of this Office in advancing drug-free workplaces and fostering stronger collaboration with partner agencies and stakeholders in the community.

PDEA NUEVA VIZCAYA PO INTENSIFIES DAPE CAMPAIGN IN SOLANO BARANGAYS

At approximately 10:00 AM, PDEA NVPO facilitated a Drug Abuse Prevention and Education (DAPE) lecture for the members of the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) of Barangay Dadap at the Barangay Session Hall in Dadap, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya.

Later in the day, at around 2:30 PM, a similar lecture was conducted for the BADAC members of Barangay Lactawan at the Barangay Gymnasium in Lactawan, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya.

The discussions focused on Drug Identification, the Concept of Drug Abuse, the harmful effects of dangerous drugs, and the key provisions of Republic Act 9165.

These initiatives aim to reinforce community awareness and participation in anti-drug efforts, contributing to the sustained drug-cleared status of the barangays.

PDEA RO2 JOINS INAUGURATION AND BLESSING OF ILAGAN CITY COLLEGE

PDEA Regional Office 2, under the leadership of Regional Director DIR III Gil Cesario P. Castro, represented by IA V Joshua V. Arquero, Assistant Regional Director, attended the Inauguration and Blessing of the City of Ilagan College on May 4, 2026, at 7:30 AM.

Also present during the activity was IA V Jojo C. Gayuma, Provincial Officer of the PDEA Isabela Provincial Office. The event was spearheaded by Hon. Josemarie L. Diaz, City Mayor of Ilagan.

The activity formed part of the 340th Founding Anniversary celebration of the City of Ilagan, also known as “Aggaw na Ilagan.”

PDEA’s participation highlights its continued commitment to strengthening collaboration with local government units and academic institutions in advancing drug-free communities through sustained partnerships and preventive education initiatives.
