DILG Cavite successfully conducted the Local Government Code Review and Amendment Program (LGC RevAmP) Provincial Consultation Workshop on June 2–3, 2026 at Royale Parc Hotel, Tagaytay City.

The two-day consultation workshop gathered Local Chief Executives, Members of the Sanggunian, and officials and representatives from the Provincial, City, Municipal, and Barangay Local Government Units across Cavite.

The activity served as a vital platform for stakeholders to discuss, share insights, and provide recommendations toward the review and amendment of the Local Government Code, ensuring that it remains responsive to the evolving needs and challenges of local governance.

Through meaningful dialogue and collaborative engagement, DILG Cavite continues to support initiatives that strengthen local autonomy, enhance governance, and promote responsive and people-centered public service.

This refers to several reports regarding individuals posing as persons officially affiliated with the Department through unauthorized use of logo and name of the DILG and the National Barangay Operations Office (NBOO) in letterheads and in email communications.

📚⚖️ Strengthening Legislative Competence, One Session at a Time!

The 3rd Session of the Coaching and Mentoring Program for Local Government Operations Officers (LGOOs) on Local Legislation was successfully conducted by DILG Cavite, further enhancing the knowledge and skills of participants in the field of local governance and legislative practice. It was held June 04, 2026 at the SP Session Hall, City of Trece Martires, Cavite.

The session was facilitated by OIC Provincial Director Marcial A. Juangco, who provided valuable insights on the Local Legislative Process and Legislative Decorum. Through an engaging discussion, participants gained a deeper understanding of the procedures, principles, and professional conduct essential in supporting effective and democratic local legislative bodies.

As DILG Cavite continues to invest in the professional development of its LGOOs, this learning initiative reinforces the commitment to fostering competent, responsive, and empowered public servants who can effectively guide and support local government units in legislative matters.

“𝙆𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝙨𝙖𝙛𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝘾𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙚”

Gov. Francisco Gabriel D. Remulla called for continuous collaboration in advancing peace and order and public safety in the Province of Cavite, during the 2nd Quarter Cavite Provincial Peace and Order Council, Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council, and Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (CPPOC-PCADAC-PTFELCAC) joint regular meetings conducted on May 14 and June 2, 2026, via Zoom teleconference.

Seven joint Council resolutions were passed including the realignment of CY 2026 POPS Fund, recognition of CY 2026 LTIA regional winner barangays, request for assistance of the Leagues of Cities and Municipalities to facilitate the sharing of Balay Silangan, creation of the joint Council’s Information, Education, Communication (IEC) team, and creation of a technical working group for the consultative review of the proposed educational assistance for select children of persons deprived of liberty (PDLs).

Furthermore, Sanggunians across all governance level were enjoined to issue and/ or reiterate their Safer Cities ordinances. All provincial, city, municipal, and barangay government units and Council member agencies and organizations were also directed to actively participate in the celebration of the CY 2026 International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Through these measures, the Councils aim to intensify community education and participation and improve the implementation of interventions addressing the province’s priority challenges on criminality, illegal drugs, and insurgency and violent extremism.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government Cavite successfully conducted Module 2 of the Coaching and Mentoring Program for LGOOs on Local Legislation last May 28, 2026 at the 3rd Floor, Carmona Operations Center.

As part of the continuous learning process, coachees first took the End-of-Module 1 Examination, where the Top 5 Performing Coachees were duly recognized for their exemplary performance and commitment to learning.

The discussion for Module 2 focused on the Legislative Process — a timely and significant topic that strengthens the competence of LGOOs in understanding the procedures and processes involved in local legislation. The session highlighted the importance of equipping LGOOs with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively support legislative functions in their respective local government units.

Through initiatives such as this, DILG Cavite remains committed to empowering LGOOs and enhancing their capabilities toward responsive, efficient, and effective local governance
