The Liga ng mga Barangay - Tagana-an Chapter, spearheaded by LnmB President Hon. Felix Zamora Servasquez Jr. convene its Regular Monthly Meeting on February 18, 2026 at Barangay Lower Libas .

MLGOO Ms. Sheila Gesta was present during the meeting to discuss the following DILG Issuances

1. MC 2026-012 re: Guidelines for the conduct of Barangay Assembly Day,
2. MC 2026-011 re; prohibition on the use of government vehicles during saturdays, sundays, and holidays except for official functions
3. Unumbered Memorandum re: Recall on the directive on the adoption of presidential directive no PBBM-2025-1763 realigning the cost of govrment projects with real market price.
4. MC 2026-006 Re-prohibition on the display and/or affixture of the name, image, likeness, logo, color motif, initials, or other symbol or graphic representation associated with public officials on government projects.

Surigao del Norte LGUs continue to strengthen their stand against illegal drugs, with the number of High Functional LGUs rising from 𝟭𝟬 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝟭𝟳 in the 2025 ADAC Performance Audit.

This achievement reflects strengthened local councils, sustained interventions, and a collective commitment to safer, drug-free communities.

JANUARY 29, 2026 || BSA MONTHLY MEETING

The Barangay Secretaries’ 1st Monthly Meeting for Calendar Year 2026 was successfully conducted to orient and update barangay secretaries on key program requirements, report monitoring, and compliance with national and municipal directives. The meeting was facilitated with the presence of MLGOO Ms. Sheila Gesta together with DILG Staff Ms. Ruby Dandan Maaño, who provided guidance and clarifications on various governance-related concerns.

During the meeting, focused on the monitoring of reports and strict adherence to submission deadlines for the following barangay programs and mandates:

✅Barangay Road Clearing
✅Barangay Weekly Kalinisan,
✅HAPAG,
✅First Time Jobseeker,
✅Kambahay,
✅VAW/VAC.
✅Katarungang Pambarangay

Barangay secretaries were reminded of the importance of timely and accurate submission of reports to ensure compliance, effective program implementation, and positive assessment results.

Further discussed was the submission of Functionality Audit Forms for key barangay councils and committees, specifically the

✅Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC),
✅Barangay Peace and Order Council (BPOC),
✅Violence Against Women (VAW) Desk,
✅Barangay Development Council (BDC),
✅Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC), and
✅Barangay Nutrition Committee (BNC).

On which will be the basis for the search for Best Performing Barangay Based Institution. Participants were guided on the proper completion and consolidation of required documents.

The meeting also included a briefing on the search for the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) at the Municipal Level, highlighting the criteria, documentary requirements, and the role of barangay secretaries in ensuring complete and organized records.

In addition, updates and reminders were provided regarding the application for retention of Drug-Cleared Barangay Status, underscoring the need for sustained anti-drug efforts, proper documentation, and coordination with concerned agencies.

Overall, the meeting served as an important platform for strengthening coordination, enhancing administrative efficiency, and ensuring that barangays remain compliant with existing laws, policies, and performance standards for CY 2026.

To our dedicated Barangay Councils, BPLK, BHWs, BNS, Purok Chairpersons, residents, and especially the youth, daghang salamat sa inyong suporta ug pag-apil—your presence truly strengthened our advocacy for a drug-free and healthier community.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the representatives from the Tagana-an Municipal Police Station for their continued partnership and guidance.

The Local Government of Tagana-an recently conducted a 3-Day Comprehensive Development Planning (DCP) and Executive-Legislative Agenda (ELA) workshop on November 12-14, 2025 at Club Tara, Bucas Grande Islands. The event aimed to shape the municipality's vision for the 2026-2031 Plan.

Attendees included Mayor Hon. Cesar Ian B. Diaz, Vice Mayor Hon. Cesar B. Diaz, Jr., members of the Sangguniang Bayan (SB), department heads, and representatives - all in coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Key Highlights of the Planning Session:
-Visioning for Tagana-an's Future: Focus on strategic planning for sustainable development in Tagana-an from 2026-2031.
- Collaborative Approach: Involvement of key local government officials and department heads ensured comprehensive input for the plan.
- Alignment with DILG Guidelines: Planning conducted in memorandum of DILG directives for local government development planning.

This strategic planning session underscores the local government's commitment to charting a progressive path for Tagana-an, emphasizing unity and development in its vision for the coming years.

The Municipal Government of Tagana-an, Surigao del Norte proudly celebrates its recognition as a 2024 Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping (SGFH) Passer by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) — a testament to its unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and prudent fiscal management.

The award was officially conferred on November 7, 2025, during the CARAGA Regional Excellence Awards 2025 held in Butuan City.

Special commendation is extended to Ms. Mildred Yap , Full Disclosure Policy (FDP) Focal Person, for her exemplary dedication and outstanding contribution in ensuring the municipality’s full compliance with the DILG’s transparency and good governance standards. 🌟

Likewise, DILG Tagana-an with MLGOO Sheila Gesta also received a Plaque of Recognition for its steadfast support and guidance to the Local Government Unit in upholding the principles of good governance and financial accountability.

Message of the Mayor

Mga minahal kong Tagana-anon, marajaw na adlaw sa ato tanan!
Kuman nga adlaw, atong gisaulog ang unang 100 ka adlaw sa atong pag-alagad. Sa mubo nga panahon, hamok na an ato nakab-ot pinaagi sa panaghiusa ug tinud-anay nga pagserbisyo. Kini nga kalampusan dili lang kalampusan sa administrasyon, apan kalampusan sa tibuok katawhan sa Lungsod nan Tagana-an.
Sa unang 100 ka adlaw, ato nang nasugdan ang mga programa alang sa 10 POINT AGENDA — nga nagdaya ug paglaum ug kauswagan sa atong komunidad. Ang atong tumong amo ang pagserbisyo nga matinud-anon, malinawon, ug makanunayon.
Bisan pa man sa mga hagit, magpadajon kita sa pagtrabaho alang sa mas marajaw na Tagana-an — usa ka lungsod nga hapsay ug progresibo. Ang atong tinguha mao an pagpadajon sa tinuod na serbisyo publiko alang sa tanan.
Salamat karajaw sa inyong suporta ug pagsalig. Padajon ta sa tinuod nga serbisyo, para sa katawhan, para sa Tagana-an, One Tagana-an!
