The Public Employment Service Office (PESO)-Hinatuan, in partnership with the LGU Hinatuan - MDRRM Office led by Jerald Niel D. Laurente, MDRRMO Designate, successfully conducted a 2-Day Basic Life Support (BLS) Training and Culmination Program for 37 SPES beneficiaries on May 28–29, 2026, at the Legislative Building, Hinatuan.

While the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) provides employment opportunities to the youth, PESO-Hinatuan also took the initiative to equip the beneficiaries with practical life-saving skills through BLS training. The activity aimed to prepare participants to respond effectively during emergencies and become more responsible and resilient members of the community.

Through lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises, the beneficiaries gained valuable knowledge and skills that may prove crucial in real-life emergency situations. PESO-Hinatuan extends its heartfelt appreciation to MDRRMO-Hinatuan for their expertise and support in making this meaningful activity a success.

In preparation for the observance of the World Day Against Child Labor 2026, key representatives from the DOLE Surigao del Sur Field Office, DOLE Caraga Regional Office, DOLE Central Office, International Labour Organization (ILO), Local Government Unit of Hinatuan, and the Congressional Office gathered for a coordination meeting to strengthen collaborative efforts in promoting and protecting children's rights.

The meeting served as a platform to align plans, strategies, and responsibilities for the upcoming activity, reinforcing a shared commitment to eliminating child labor and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in a safe and supportive environment.

Yesterday, May 13, 2026, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Help Desk was successfully conducted at the Municipal Hall Building, 2nd Floor Lobby, PESO Office, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

The activity provided assistance and information services to OFWs and their families regarding OWWA programs, membership benefits, welfare assistance, and other employment-related concerns.

Through this initiative, PESO-Hinatuan and OWWA continue to strengthen their commitment in delivering accessible and responsive public service to the community, especially to our modern-day heroes and their families.
