The 23rd Mechanized Infantry (EXPLORER) Company conducted a meaningful Feeding Program for the pupils of Baumol Elementary School who participated in the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts Encampment on 21 August 2026. The activity aimed to promote the health, well-being, and development of young learners while fostering camaraderie and community spirit.

Joining the activity were 1LT ROY MANUEL A PELIJO (ARM) PA, Acting Commanding Officer, and 1LT JOFER JOHN N DAGUINOTAN (ARM) PA, Executive Officer, together with the school head, teachers, parents, and students in a shared effort to support the children and strengthen the partnership between the Philippine Army and the community.

More than providing nourishment, the activity served as an avenue to foster friendship, strengthen community relations, and deepen the bond between the military and the community, while reminding our young learners that they are supported and encouraged to pursue their dreams.

The activity concluded with smiles, gratitude, and renewed hope, inspiring every child to believe in themselves and pursue a brighter future.

EXTENDING HOPE AND SUPPORT TO FLOOD-AFFECTED FAMILIES IN SITIO LANGKUNO

The 23rd Mechanized Infantry (EXPLORER) Company, led by 1LT ROY MANUEL A PELIJO (ARM) PA, Company Commander, together with 2LT VICTORIANO S AINZA JR (ARM) PA, Platoon Leader, joined the Local Government Unit of Paglat in the distribution of relief goods to 303 flood-affected families in Sitio Langkuno, Brgy. Damakling, Paglat, Maguindanao del Sur.

The activity was spearheaded by the Municipal Government of Paglat, under the leadership of Hon. Raisa P. Langkuno, Municipal Mayor, together with Hon. Akas Talusan, Barangay Chairman of Damakling; Hon. Jayhan Langkuno, Municipal Councilor; Mohammad Nanding Jr., MLGOO-Paglat; Bai Abnessa Mayasa, Social Welfare Officer; Tarhata Kido, representative of the Office of Congressman Mangudadatu; and Atty. Mohammad Jameel Sing, Municipal Attorney. Personnel from the PNP, and BFP, along with other government representatives and members of the community, also took part in the activity.

The distribution provided much-needed assistance to families affected by the recent flooding and reflected the importance of working together during challenging times. The combined efforts of the local government, partner agencies, security forces, and community leaders helped ensure that assistance reached families who needed it most.

The EXPLORER Company remains committed to supporting humanitarian efforts and community-based activities while continuing its mission of maintaining peace and security within its area of responsibility.

In support of the Philippine Army's Whole-of-Nation Approach to peace and development, the 23rd Mechanized Infantry (EXPLORER) Company actively participated in the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) Joint Council Meeting on 21 July 2026 at the Municipal Hall of General Salipada K. Pendatun, Maguindanao del Sur.

The activity was attended by LTC RAUL P ESCAT ARM (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer, 2nd Mechanized Infantry Battalion, together with his staff officers; 1LT ROY MANUEL A PELIJO (ARM) PA, Company Commander, 23rd Mechanized Infantry (EXPLORER) Company; and 2LT VICTORIANO S AINZA JR (ARM) PA, Platoon Leader. In partnership with Hon. Mielyn Dimalna Ali, Municipal Mayor of GSKP; Hon. Nurodin P. Masukat, Municipal Vice Mayor; Hon. Rafsanjani Pendatun Ali, Former Municipal Mayor; PLT Samer J. Kasan, Chief of Police; SFO1 Edison Lloyd C. Cadagat, Municipal Fire Marshal; and representatives from the Municipal Health Office, MLGOO, MTTRU, MSSD, MSWD, MDRRMO, Civil Society Organizations, Sangguniang Bayan, Barangay Chairpersons, and other local government offices.

The council meeting served as an important platform for assessing the municipality's peace and order situation, addressing emerging security concerns, enhancing disaster preparedness, and synchronizing inter-agency initiatives to ensure public safety and community resilience. The discussions further reinforced the importance of a unified and collaborative approach in sustaining peace, promoting good governance, and advancing development at the grassroots level.

Through its active participation, the Explorer Company reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to strengthening civil-military relations and fostering strong partnerships with the local government, law enforcement agencies, and community stakeholders. The unit remains dedicated to supporting programs that contribute to a peaceful, secure, and resilient community.

In response to the continuous flooding caused by the persistent heavy rains brought by TYPHOON KIYAPO and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), the 23rd Mechanized Infantry (EXPLORER) Company, under the leadership of 1LT ROY MANUEL A PELIJO (ARM) PA, Company Commander, immediately mobilized its personnel to conduct Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) operations in close coordination with local government units, Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (LDRRMOs), the Philippine National Police, and community volunteers on 24 July 2026.

A Mechanized Team led by 2LT VICTORIANO S AINZA JR (ARM) PA, Platoon Leader, together with personnel from the Lambayong Municipal Police Station led by PMAJ LEONEL V DELASAN, the Lambayong LDRRMO headed by Engr. Sherwin De Guzman, the Barangay Chairman of Zeneben, and other local responders, conducted rescue operations in the flood-affected barangays of Zeneben, Pinguiaman, Tinumigues, and Caridad, Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat. Through the collective efforts of the responding teams, approximately 2,472 flood-affected families were safely assisted and evacuated as floodwaters continued to rise.

Simultaneously, another Mechanized Team led by 1LT ROY MANUEL A PELIJO (ARM) PA, together with personnel from the LDRRMO led by Engr. Harris Ukat and barangay volunteers headed by their respective barangay chairpersons, conducted rescue operations in Barangays Bulod, Tugal, and Tukanakuden, Sultan sa Barongis, Maguindanao del Sur. The operation successfully provided assistance to an estimated 2,821 flood-affected families, ensuring their safety amid the worsening weather conditions.

These coordinated Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) operations reflect the unwavering commitment of the 23rd Mechanized Infantry (EXPLORER) Company to protect lives, support affected communities, and strengthen partnerships with local government units and partner agencies during times of crisis. The unit remains steadfast in delivering timely, responsive, and people-centered service, truly embodying the spirit of "Serving the People, Securing the Land."

The 23rd Mechanized Infantry (Explorer) Company under the leadership of CPT MARK JERUSALEM R DEVEZA (ARM) PA, Commanding Officer of this unit, actively participated in the Islamic Symposium in Commemoration of Al-isra Wal-miraj on 20 January 2026 with key leaders of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) NASCOM, namely Sheikh Mohamad Parid Solaiman Adas, MNLF Middle East Spokesperson; Rolly Karun, MNLF Deputy Foreign Minister; Ebrahim D Andamen, MNLF National Striking Force Chief; and Datu Cons S Kulod, Commander 3rd Bde, NASCOM, MNLF at Headquarters Camp Kulod Bagui-Bagui Barangay Udtong, Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat.

The engagement served as a significant step toward strengthening cooperation, trust and mutual understanding between government forces and MNLF on support of sustained peace, security, and development initiatives within the area.

During the Islamic Symposium, both parties discussed key issues affecting peace and security, including community stability, conflict prevention, and the importance of collaborative efforts in maintaining harmony within local communities. Emphasis was placed on open communication, mutual respect, and shared responsibility in addressing security concerns and promoting inclusive and sustainable development.
