The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Macrohon conducted a Mental Health Symposium for its employees on August 11, 2026, at the Municipal Training Hall, in partnership with the Provincial Health Office (PHO) of Southern Leyte, headed by Dr. Jean Marie R. Uy, Provincial Health Officer I. The activity aimed to promote mental health awareness, encourage open conversations about emotional and psychological well-being, and strengthen employeesโ understanding of the importance of maintaining a healthy and balanced life.
The symposium featured Maโam Vilma Grate, RM, Provincial Mental Health Program Coordinator, as the resource speaker. She shared valuable insights on mental health, stress management, emotional well-being, healthy coping mechanisms, and the importance of seeking support when needed. Her discussion emphasized that mental health is an essential part of overall well-being and that seeking help is a sign of strength and self-awareness.
The activity also provided LGU employees with an opportunity to reflect on their personal well-being and the challenges they encounter in their professional and personal lives. Through meaningful discussions and interactive activities, participants were encouraged to become more mindful of their mental health and to foster a workplace culture built on understanding, compassion, and mutual support.
The LGU Macrohon expresses its sincere appreciation to the Provincial Health Office of Southern Leyte, under the leadership of Dr. Jean Marie R. Uy, and to Maโam Vilma Grate, RM, for their valuable contribution to the success of the symposium. The activity underscores the LGUโs continued commitment to promoting a healthy, supportive, and mentally resilient workplace where the welfare and well-being of every employee are valued and prioritized.
