The Bachelor of Public Administration students from SLSU - Maasin Campus paid a courtesy call to Hon. Atty. Jerome A. Cortina prior to their deployment for their 200-hour On-the-Job Training (OJT). The visit allowed them to formally introduce themselves and receive guidance on public service, professionalism, and workplace ethics.

Mayor Cortina assured that he will support the students throughout their On-the-Job Training, emphasizing the importance of guidance and mentorship as they gain practical experience in their respective office assignments.

The Local Government Unit of Macrohon successfully conducted the SPMS Evaluation/Assessment Feedbacking and Target Setting by Office on January 14, 2025, at the Mayor’s Conference Room. The activity provided a structured venue for offices to review their July - December 2025 performance, receive feedback on accomplishments and gaps, and align targets for the incoming year in accordance with the Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS).

Department heads and key personnel actively participated in the discussion of performance indicators, implementation challenges, and measurable outcomes. Through this activity, the LGU reaffirmed its commitment to accountability, results-based management, and continuous improvement in public service delivery, ensuring that each office’s targets are responsive to the municipality’s development goals.

The Local Government Unit of Macrohon held its First Friday Mass at the Municipal Lobby, gathering officials and employees in a shared moment of prayer and reflection. The activity fostered spiritual renewal and unity among personnel as they continue their commitment to public service.

During the same event, employees celebrating their birthdays for the month of January were recognized and presented with birthday letters from the Municipal Mayor.

The Local Government Unit of Macrohon observes the celebration of the Holy Mass every first Friday of the month as part of its commitment to the spiritual enrichment and holistic well-being of its employees.

In line with the PRAISE/Rewards and Recognition Program, the LGU likewise acknowledges and honors the birthday celebrants of each month. As a gesture of gratitude and goodwill, the celebrants also receive a personalized birthday letter from the Municipal Mayor, conveying warm greetings and heartfelt well-wishes on their special day.

The Local Government Unit of Macrohon warmly welcomed the students from Ichon National High School, MACI-JKD Learning Foundation, Inc., and The College of Maasin during the Work Immersion Orientation held at the Municipal Training Hall.

As part of their immersion requirements, the students are expected to undergo a series of preparatory briefings, familiarize themselves with the functions of various offices, and comply with the guidelines set by the LGU to ensure a meaningful and productive learning experience.
