𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐌𝐆𝐀 𝐊𝐀 𝐀𝐆𝐑𝐈: On May 5, 2026, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) XII successfully conducted the distribution of 35,000 tilapia fingerlings to beneficiaries in our municipality at the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist.

This initiative aims to enhance local fish production, promote sustainable aquaculture, and provide additional livelihood opportunities for our fisherfolk.

We extend our sincere gratitude to BFAR XII for their unwavering support and commitment to empowering our fisherfolks.

Together, we continue to build a more productive and sustainable fisheries sector.

Pinaagi sa hustong pag-atiman, pagtipid sa tubig, ug paggamit sa yano nga pamaagi sa pagtatanom, mahimo gihapon nga molambo ang atong mga tanom bisan sa ting-init. Ang paggamit og paso ug mga recycled nga mga container, ug uban pang available nga materyales usa ka praktikal nga solusyon bisan limitado ang espasyo.

Sa Office of the Municipal Agriculturist (OMAG), among gipakita nga posible gihapon ang pagtubo sa mga gulay sama sa talong, kamatis, pechay, ug uban pa bisan init ang panahon.

Gina-awhag namo ang tanang mag-uuma ug matag barangay nga mosugod sa container gardening. Sugdi nato sa gamay—sa paso o sa palibot sa balay.

Magtanom ta karon para sa sigurado nga pagkaon ugma! Magtinabangay ta sa paghimo og Madagayaon ug produktibong komunidad bisan pa og ting-init!

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐌𝐆𝐀 𝐊𝐀 𝐀𝐆𝐑𝐈: Niadtong April 23, 2026, Malampusong gipahigayon sa Office of the Municipal Agriculturist ang Gender Sensitivity Seminar alang sa Rural Improvement Clubs (RICs) sa JM Beach Resort, Tuyan, Malapatan, Sarangani Province.

Harid bahin sa Safe Spaces ug Protection Laws, ug si Donny Boy Villajuan bahin sa Family Planning—nga naghatag og kahibalo sa kahinungdanon sa pagkakapantay-pantay, kahibalo, ug responsibilidad sa pagtukod og luwas ug inklusibong komunidad.

Pinaagi niini nga inisyatiba, padayon nga gipalig-on ang komunidad pinaagi sa paghatag og kahibalo, pagpalambo sa maayong pamatasan, ug pagdasig sa aktibong partisipasyon.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐌𝐆𝐀 𝐊𝐀 𝐀𝐆𝐑𝐈:
April 14, 2026 – A joint validation was conducted by the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center XII (ATI-TRC XII), under the FITS Program led by Jon Ian Belo and OPAG FITS Manager Engr. Inocencio E. Morales, in coordination with the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist (OMAG), at the Malapatan College of Science and Technology (MALAHSCI) for the proposed establishment of a Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS) Kiosk. The activity aimed to assess institutional readiness and compliance with program requirements, and to strengthen the delivery of agricultural information and extension services through improved access to technologies, knowledge resources, and support mechanisms for students and stakeholders.

During the validation, the College Administrator, Maria Giovanna G. Abecia, Ed.D, expressed her appreciation for the partnership, emphasizing that the program is both timely and relevant to the institution’s current needs. She further noted that the establishment of a FITS Kiosk will significantly contribute to the enhancement of learning opportunities and the promotion of agricultural development within the institution.

Based on the results of the validation, MALAHSCI successfully met the requirements and is set to receive a project amounting to Fifty Thousand Pesos (₱50,000.00) from ATI XII. This highlights the institution’s commitment to innovation, extension services, and sustainable agriculture.

On the same date, the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) conducted the distribution of 14,300 hills of coconut seedlings to 36 farmers in Barangay Patag and 40 farmers in Barangay Poblacion, with the activity held in Patag. The intervention aims to support local farmers by expanding coconut production, promoting sustainable agricultural practices, and improving livelihood opportunities.

These activities were carried out with the support of the Municipal Officials, headed by Hon. Salway D. Sumbo, Jr. MMPA, Municipal Mayor, whose leadership continues to contribute to the advancement of agricultural development in the locality.

Together, through collaboration and a shared vision, we continue to empower our farmers and students, strengthen institutions, and build a more resilient and progressive agricultural community.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐌𝐆𝐀 𝐊𝐀 𝐀𝐆𝐑𝐈:
April 8, 2026-A series of simultaneous agricultural activities were successfully conducted in Barangay, Kinam, Malapatan, Sarangani Province through the joint efforts of the Municipal Agriculture Office led by ENGR. Mirasol S. Saludes and the office of Provincial Agriculturist (OPAG).

The monitoring and second fertilization of the Corn Derby were conducted at Sitio Kitulag on a farm owned by Hon. Judy Silva. A total of eleven (11) seed companies-𝐕𝐢𝐠𝐨𝐮𝐫, 𝐃𝐞𝐤𝐚𝐥𝐛, 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐨, 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐯𝐚, 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐨, 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧, 𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚, 𝐑𝐉𝐑, 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐝, 𝐄𝐯𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐊𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢-showcased their corn varieties. This provided farmers with the opportunity to observe and compare the performance of different varieties in terms of growth, adaptability, and yield potential.

The activity also included actual demonstrations on proper fertilization techniques to enhance farmers’ knowledge and improve their farming practices. It was spearheaded by OPAG personnel, with the active participation of local farmers. Hon. Beltran Cawan Punong Barangay of Upper Suyan, and MAFC Chairman Jonathan Alcala were also present to personally witness the demonstration, with the intention of applying the technologies and knowledge gained on their farms and sharing these practices with their constituents.

On the same date, the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), led by Erica Gadia, conducted the distribution of 12,870 hills of coconut seedlings to 33 local farmers, providing them with additional livelihood opportunities while strengthening and promoting sustainable coconut production in the area. This supports income diversification, improved productivity, and long-term agricultural development.

Through strong collaboration and continuous support, we move closer to building a more productive and sustainable agricultural future for our farmers in the municipality.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐌𝐆𝐀 𝐊𝐀 𝐀𝐆𝐑𝐈: The Office of the Municipal Agriculturist (OMAG), led by ENGR. MIRASOL S. SALUDES, conducted a meeting with the Barangay Council and farmers of Barangay Upper Suyan, Malapatan, Sarangani Province, in relation to the second-year implementation of the 𝑾𝒉𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒓𝒏 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒋𝒆𝒄𝒕 of the local government.

During the activity, the accomplishments of the project in its first year were discussed, including its successes, challenges, and lessons learned. The status of the project was also presented to provide a clearer understanding of the program’s progress and the areas that still require improvement. Plans and strategies for the next phase of implementation were explained, focusing on strengthening production, improving the quality of harvests, and increasing farmers’ participation.

The importance of collaboration among farmers, barangay officials, and the local government was also emphasized to ensure the success of the program. All stakeholders were encouraged to continue participating in and supporting program activities, as this serves as the foundation for sustainable agricultural development in the community.

On the other hand, the Office also conducted profiling for the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) on April 6–7, 2026. Farmers were encouraged to register, as the RSBSA serves as the official basis for the granting of government assistance. Registered farmers are prioritized in receiving various interventions such as farm inputs and crop insurance, including regular programs from regional offices. Those who are not registered may have limited access to these benefits.

The OMAG continues to encourage all farmers to register in the RSBSA to ensure that they can avail themselves of government programs.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐌𝐆𝐀 𝐊𝐀 𝐀𝐆𝐑𝐈: On March 27, 2026, the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist successfully conducted a Gender Sensitivity Seminar at Malapatan College of Science and Technology.

The activity was attended by 4H Club Officers and Members and SCC Officers, providing a meaningful learning experience that promoted respect, prevented harassment, and protected the rights and dignity of individuals, especially women and children.

The program featured discussions from our resource speakers: 𝐌𝐫. 𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫 𝐌. 𝐓𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐨, 𝐉𝐫. on Gender Sensitivity, and 𝐏𝐌𝐒𝐆 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞 𝐌. 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐝 on Safe Spaces and Protection Laws, emphasizing the importance of equality, awareness, and responsibility in building a safe and inclusive community.

Also present was SCC Adviser 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐞 𝐄. 𝐉𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐩𝐚𝐬, 𝐌𝐀𝐞𝐝, 𝐋𝐏𝐓 who delivered an inspiring message encouraging participants to become advocates of respect and positive change.

Through this initiative, the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist continues to empower the youth by promoting knowledge and values that foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive community.
