Sarangani National Sports Academy (SANSA) once again proved its excellence in sports development as it significantly boosted the Municipality of Alabelโs overall performance during the recently concluded Sarangani Provincial Athletic Association Meet (SPAA 2026) held in Kiamba, Sarangani.
SANSA athletes delivered an impressive medal output, contributing 71 gold medals, 55 silver medals, and 31 bronze medals to Alabelโs overall tally. The remarkable achievement underscored the academyโs consistent commitment to excellence in sports development and competitive athletics.
A major highlight came from Swimming (Secondary Level), where SANSA swimmers dominated individual events with an impressive 32 gold medals, 23 silver medals, and 12 bronze medals, showcasing depth, speed, and technical mastery in the pool.
In Taekwondo (Secondary), SANSA fighters demonstrated discipline and precision, earning 12 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 3 bronze medals, further solidifying the academyโs strength in combat sports.
Track and field events also saw notable contributions. Athletics (Boys) delivered a powerful performance with 14 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 3 bronze medals, while Athletics (Girls) added 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal to Alabelโs tally.
Traditional and precision-based sports likewise shone. Arnis emerged as one of SANSAโs strongest events, producing 7 gold medals, 19 silver medals, and 8 bronze medals, reflecting both skill and cultural pride. In Badminton (Secondary), SANSA athletes secured 2 gold medals and 2 silver medals, while Boxing contributed 1 gold medal and 2 bronze medals through hard-fought bouts.
Strength and strategy were evident in Wrestling, where SANSA claimed 3 gold medals and 1 silver medal, and consistency showed in Lawn Tennis, adding 2 silver medals and 2 bronze medals to the overall count.
Throughout the four-day provincial meet, SANSA athletes showcased discipline, resilience, and high-level performance across various athletic events, standing out among competitors from different municipalities. Their victories not only elevated Alabelโs standings but also reflected the effectiveness of structured training, dedicated coaching, and sustained athlete support.
