Graphic design has a big role to play in the modern competitive business environment. Businesses need the services of graphic designers to create impressive marketing materials. These materials include brochures, business cards, websites, leaflets, stationeries and so on.

An impressive and memorable logo is a basic requirement for any business to build a brand identity. Similarly, businesses need the services of graphic designers to create unique mobile apps and social media pages for business promotion. We can say that graphic design has become a part of doing business in physical and virtual markets.

A reason for businesses increasingly demanding more graphic design items is the need for effective communication with the audience. Since more and more businesses are entering markets, it is generating more competition.

To deal with the competition, graphic designs have become essential to draw the attention of potential customers towards businesses. There is an increasing need felt by entrepreneurs to communicate a message to the target audience effectively.

On-demand workers are an increasingly popular option for corporations.
Companies are increasingly hiring freelancers to meet work demands rather than full-time employees. What makes this growing segment of the workforce so appealing to corporations?

It's the time of the freelancer. Even with the challenges facing freelancers (like the unpredictability of income and lack of benefits), more and more workers are either wholly abandoning their traditional jobs in favor of a more flexible schedule or keeping the security of a permanent position while freelancing on the side. With the numbers growing steadily, it makes sense that freelancers would eventually attract the interest of corporations.

The status quo for years was for companies to hire permanent employees. However, recently, corporations are more frequently outsourcing project-based jobs to freelancers, rather than hiring full-time staff.

Whether you are a freelancer yourself or a business owner considering hiring a freelancer rather than a long-term employee, the outlook is bright as this arrangement increases. These are the main reasons why companies love to hire freelancers.

1. Specialized Skills and expertise
There's always been a stigma attached to freelancers, with many believing that they aren't as skilled as their full-time counterparts. This is not true, especially as of late. Because freelancing offers freedom and flexibility that's impossible with traditional 9-to-5 jobs, many workers are turning to it as either their sole source of income or additional income. Therefore, the talent pool is rapidly increasing, meaning that people from various fields are using their significant knowledge and expertise in freelancing gigs.

Think about how this could be useful for a company. Say you need a professional writer for a single project. It would not make sense to hire a full-time writer, because your writing needs aren't enough to justify it. Hiring a full-time employee would be expensive and a waste of company money. However, a freelancer would fit the project perfectly. The company would use the freelancer's skills for the project, pay them, and then the two entities would part ways.

2. Cost-effectiveness
When companies hire full-time employees, they are responsible for providing benefits. These usually include health insurance, paid time off and sick leave, which are all expenses that the company has to pay. Freelancers are free agents, not part of any company's permanent staff, so the employer does not need to provide freelance workers with any benefits. This is a perk for employers but a disadvantage for freelancers, who lose money whenever they take a vacation or get sick.

When freelancers are hired for projects, companies can spend less because they only have to pay the freelancer for their services. This could be one of the fundamental reasons motivating corporations to utilize freelancers more frequently.

3. Project-based work
Not all projects and tasks require a full-time employee. Many projects are one-off assignments that have various start and end times throughout the year. These projects may require completely different skill sets, so hiring one person full time to complete them just doesn't make sense. A full-time employee may have the specific skills needed for one project but lack the expertise to complete another effectively.

This is where freelancers shine. Freelancers are expanding their skill sets to keep up with the evolution of the workforce. However, more pertinent to employers is the specificity of the skills most freelancers have. You may have a project that requires a graphic designer but not enough to justify hiring one full time. The logical solution? Hire a freelancer. Then, when the next short-term project rolls around, such as one where you need the skills of an app developer, you can hire another freelancer with those skills. This makes more sense than hiring full-time staff for short-term assignments.

Freelancers may find jobs easier to obtain in the future. There has been a shift in mindset toward freelancers. While the myth that freelancers aren't as skilled as full-time employees may remain, many corporations are starting to see the benefits of using freelancers instead. Financially, freelancers ease the burden by not being entitled to benefits. They also have specific skills perfect for short-term projects.

Here are ten reasons every business needs a website:

1. Your Customers Expect It
As a business entity, having a website is a must because you have a lot of customers have different geographical locations and not all of them are closer to your business location. So the website is a means through which they will be able to visit your company from wherever they are to get information about your services, request assistance, make purchases, make comments, etc. this will make your company very popular and available.

2. Improve Customer Service
Having a website is essential in improving customer service. Most of the time, business offices are very packed with customers who go there to transact business and some of them wait there all day long to see a customer service agent but most times they don’t and they get frustrated. To solve this problem, the business needs a website because the customers will now have to speak with a customer service agent on their electronic devices from their offices, homes, etc. without standing or sitting on long lines and this makes the customers happy and satisfied because of the quick response they get from the website.

3. Attract New Customers

one of the reasons for a professional web design capability to attract new customers. As customers head the internet, they will have access to the business’s products, services or information, where otherwise they may not have even known the business existed. You may fine prospects stages of the sales process, meaning you may find researchers, compares, or purchasers. Make sure to have an offer for all of them.

4. Show Case Your Products and Services
You cannot only display your products or outline your services in detail with beautiful images, but you can provide short videos or downloadable PDF instructions to give hesitant customers no reason to go elsewhere to purchase.

5. You’ll show up in google search results
If you don’t have a website for your business, the chances of you showing up on the search engine results page (SERP) are zero. But if you have a site, you can optimize it for search engine and getting more visibility with potential customers. Long-tail keywords, meta descriptions, and titles are just some of the things you can customize on your site to improve your search engine optimization (SEO)

6. Create a resource center for your link
In addition to helping customers, your business website can also benefit your own employees. Create an orphan page (one that is visible anywhere on the site so it can’t be found unless someone is given the direct link) with self-service videos, instructional materials, or forms to help your team learn everything they need to know on their own schedule.

7. It Provides Social Proof
Ninety percent of consumers claim that online reviews influence their buying decisions. You could rely on Foursquare, and other review sites to host reviews for your brand, but you can kill two birds with one stone on your own website. Since capable buyers are already looking for you online, including customer testimonies on your site is a great way to impress capable buyers.

8. More Bang for your buck
When you use a free website- building tool, like WordPress.com, your position your company to reach thousands more capable customers for less than you would spend mailing ten brochures by traditional mail.

9. You Control the Narrative
It’s true that you cannot control what others say about your social media channels, but you can influence public perception by creating your own story through a business website. A company blog helps business owners get their message, mission, and personality in front of their target audience faster than print ads or snail mail brochures. Plus, social icons linking to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other networking platforms make sharing your content easier for your visitors who like what they see.

10. Never put up the ‘close for business’ sign again

Nobody wants to work at 3 a.m., but some people like to shop then. Having a business website or e-commerce store means that you can sell products all the time — not simply between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
An online store can mean a dramatic boost in sales, especially when you factor in additional customers who are not restricted by geography. Your online presence also supports marketing campaigns, customer service, client relationship building, brand recognition, and almost every other element of the revenue stream.
Combining your website with marketing tools, like email marketing, helps you reach new customers and generate repeat business.

13 Powerful Benefits of Digital Marketing You Must Know

(1) Strategize with The Valuable Data and Analytics
With digital marketing, you can have an idea of the exact number of people who have viewed your website’s homepage in real time.

With google analytics, you can track stats and information about your marketing website. It will let you know about –

the number of people visiting your business page
their geographic location
the s*x, age and interests of the visitors
how much time they are spending on your site
the source of traffic from various gadgets
website bounce rates
how the traffic has changed over time
By displaying a breakdown of all of this traffic information, this intelligence helps you to prioritize the marketing channels.

Mind blowing, isn’t it?

The real-time data analysis provides you with a better understanding of the effectiveness of your marketing tactics. With access to this information, you can also optimize your marketing budget by investing in the well-performing marketing campaigns.

(2) Content Performance and Lead Generation
Imagine you’ve created a product brochure and delivered it to people as an offline content.

Does it seem to be convenient enough?

The problem is that you have no idea how many people have gone through that or, in the worst scenarios, how many people threw it into the trash!

Once you create an impactful visual content, start promoting it on social media. Through such networks, buyers would be able to learn about products and services through influencers and peers.

The more engagement you get, the more Google considers your content to be worthy. And in turn, it will boost your SEO rankings with ease.

Through digital marketing, you can measure exactly how many people viewed your marketing content. Thereafter, you can collect the contact details of those who download it by using forms. Additionally, you’re also generating qualified leads when people download it. With a solid lead nurturing strategy, you can build better awareness and affinity for your brand.

(3) Improved Conversion Rates
Converting a customer online is not a big deal. All you need to do is just make your marketing strategy an engaging one.

Targeted traffic offers bigger chances for conversion. Unlike other types of advertising, digital marketing lets you have a two-way conversation with customers and leads.

Through digital marketing, you can reach out to your customers at any time. Instead of bothering them with multiple phone calls, reaching customers online seems to be a better idea. Just send an email and let them make a purchase and learn more about your organization. From such interactions, important leads can be generated, which would eventually bring an increase in conversion rates.

(4) More Cost Effective Than Traditional Marketing
Digital marketing lets you save your money to a substantial extent. This has the potential to replace costly advertising channels such as television, radio and yellow pages.

With email marketing automation, you can boost your leads. Thus, it will allow you to pre-load content and schedule it for sending out the content at key times.

(5) Higher Revenues
It’s a well-known fact that higher conversion rates can be generated by effective digital marketing techniques. Hence, it will deliver loads of profitable benefits for your business in terms of better and higher revenues.

While advertising your brand:

have a good layout that enables easy navigation
use the digital platform to understand customer purchase patterns
offer the right idea that meets the needs of your customers
use multiple digital marketing channels to gather useful data
With better revenue growth expectancy, small and medium enterprises will have better chances of expanding their workforce.

(6) Higher ROI from Your Campaigns
Digital marketing companies optimize conversion rates to achieve maximum Return on Investment (ROI) for businesses. With smarter branding and better revenues, digital marketing can fetch a better ROI than traditional marketing.

With effective tracking and monitoring methods, results can be analyzed. It helps the organizations to take necessary measures as soon as possible.

With digital marketing, you can generate a steady flow of targeted traffic that gets converted into sales and leads. And, the more your business generates this kind of traffic, the faster you can enjoy your ROI.

My Journey to Freelancing

Let me introduce myself to you, visitors of my page. I am Ferdinand A. Teneza and I am currently working as a freelance web developer, who also works as a Graphic Designer and a LGU Employee. I’ve always been fascinated by Information Technology and anything having to do with computer system.

I was studying in Vocational school taking Electronics NC2(National Certificate 2) year 2008 and I realized that it wasn’t enough. I needed to find the right path for myself and search for a field that would challenge me while allowing me to be creative at the same time. I wanted something to keep my interest no matter how bored I grew and would always keep me fascinated and eager to learn more.

So I enrolled to college at Cagayan Valley Computer and Information Technology College with the course of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with zero knowledge about programming. I’ve never done this before, but I knew I wanted to learn as much as I could about programming, web development, computer software, and graphic designing. And I knew that if I really put my mind to it, I do be able to have a successful career in programming and began my career change.

Thanks to the Instructors of our school I’ve learned so many things in 4 years studying about graphic designing and web programming including Adobe Photoshop, PHP, JavaScript, CSS, HTML and more.
