While playing in the swimming pool, the child accidentally placed her hand over the vacuum port and became trapped by the strong suction. Frightened and unable to pull free, the child called for help as the parents and grandparents nearby rushed over and quickly told the maintenance staff to shut off the pool system. SRF and EMS duty personnel quickly responded, working carefully to keep the child calm while using tools to safely release the childโ€™s hand. After several tense minutes, the child was freed, and EMS personnel treated the childโ€™s swollen right hand by applying a cold compress.
