Vice Guv leads 21st SP Session, honors Young Heroine from Culasi

Vice Governor Genevive Lim-Reyes presided over the 21st Regular Session of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan today, where several significant resolutions aimed at advancing public welfare and community development in the province were approved.

Among the measures championed during the session were resolutions seeking to enhance security in school zones, encourage the active participation of government agencies and non-government organizations in the observance of Environment Month, strengthen nutrition-based programs across the province, and recognize the month of June as Pride Month.

Moreover, the session also highlighted a special recognition ceremony for 12-year-old Cherry B. Mateo of Culasi, who was commended for her extraordinary bravery during the maritime incident that occurred on May 6, 2026.

IN PHOTOS: Vice Governor Genevieve Lim-Reyes led the recognition of newly accredited Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in the Province of Antique as of May 2026, reaffirming the provincial government’s commitment to strengthening community participation and sectoral representation in local governance.

Among the accredited organizations were Delima Farmers Association, Belison Multi-purpose Cooperative, Patnongon Active and Retired Overseas Filipino Workers, Kasamma Malabor MPC, Antique Visual Arts Association, Inc., Antique Provincial Government Employees’ Multipurpose Cooperative, Belison Integrated Fisherfolks Association, Federation of Antique Migrant Workers Network Association Inc., Guisijan OFW Chapter Organization, Borocboroc Farmers Association, Borocboroc Fisherfolks Association, Eternum-Fidelis-Guardians Brotherhood Inc., and Anini-y Frontliners of Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association.

The accreditation recognizes the vital role of civil society organizations in advancing programs and initiatives that contribute to the welfare and development of Antiqueños.

Vice Governor Genevieve Lim-Reyes joins Community Outreach in Brgy. Maybato Sur

Vice Governor Genevieve Lim-Reyes joined the Antique Provincial Library and Local Archives, under Librarian Ms. Emmylou Cruzat, in a Community Outreach Program held today at Barangay Maybato Sur, featuring the distribution of school supplies, a feeding program, and the “Istoryahi ko Nay” storytelling session for the youth.

The initiative aims to promote literacy, learning, and child-friendly community engagement through support activities.

The program was made possible with the assistance of sponsors; Century Pacific Food, Inc., Shakey's Robinsons Antique Branch, and VP D'tops, whose contributions helped bring essential supplies and services to the beneficiaries.
