π‹πŽπŽπŠ: Demonstrating its steadfast commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the public, the Coast Guard Sub-Station Tagana-an led by Petty Officer First Class Rolante B Ramos PCG under the direct supervision of the Station Commander Lieutenant Junior Grade Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG successfully rendered the Day 1 of Day 2 District/Municipal Meet Swimming Competition held at Barangay Banban, Tagana-an, Surigao del Norte today, 07 August 2026.

The deployment was conducted in response to the request of the Department of Education (DepEd), Schools Division of Surigao del Norte wherein CGSS Tagana-an and Coast Guard Special Operations Group - Northeastern Mindanao (CGSOG-NEM) personnel provided maritime safety coverage throughout the conduct of the sporting event and maintain a vigilant presence by strategically positioning rescue teams and lifesaving equipment within the competition area, ensuring immediate response capability in the event of any water-related emergency.

This collaborative effort highlights the Philippine Coast Guard’s unwavering dedication to protecting lives and supporting community activities, particularly those involving students and youth. Likewise, continuous monitoring and close coordination with event organizers and partner agencies are maintained for safe, secure and orderly conduct of the said activity.

PCG-CGS SDN remains committed to promoting a culture of preparedness and public safety by providing reliable maritime services and emergency response when needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable community development, the Coast Guard Sub-Station San Francisco led by Petty Officer Third Class Alchemy G Pelias II PCG under the direct supervision of the Station Commander Lieutenant Junior Grade Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG actively participated in the Planting of Coconut Hybrid Seedlings held at Brgy. Honrado, San Francisco, Surigao del Norte today, 07 August 2026.

The activity was initiated and spearheaded by the Local Government Unit of San Francisco which gathered the active participation of the Municipality of San Francisco, various government agencies, barangay officials, community volunteers and other stakeholders. Likewise, the collaborative effort was highlighted with the active participation of the Coast Guard District Northeastern Mindanao (CGDNEM) Operational Control (OPCON) Units such Marine Environmental Protection Group - Northeastern Mindanao (MEPG-NEM), Coast Guard Special Operations Group - Northeastern Mindanao (CGSOG-NEM), Coast Guard K9 Field Operating Unit - Northeastern Mindanao (CGK9FOU-NEM) and Coast Guard Sea Marshal Unit - Northeastern Mindanao (CGSMU-NEM).

The activity forms part of the Philippine Coast Guard’s continuing environmental conservation initiatives aimed at promoting ecological sustainability, strengthening climate resilience and supporting national efforts in environmental protection wherein through the planting of coconut hybrid seedlings, the initiative contributes to the rehabilitation of local communities, enhances green landscapes and promotes long-term economic and environmental benefits.

The initiative was conducted in support to the Intensified Community Awareness, Assistance, Response and Enforcement (ICARE) program of the PCG which highlighted the importance of shared responsibility and active community involvement in promoting sustainable environmental stewardship as well as a healthier environment for everyone.

A total of Three Hundred (300) Trees were successfully planted in the abovementioned location which contributed to the restoration thereby strengthening not only the environmental stewardship but also underscores the importance of protecting and preserving the natural resources for present and future generations.

The momentous occasion was graced by the presence of Coast Guard District Northeastern Mindanao District Commander, Commodore Jaybom J Calica PCG, Municipal Mayor of San Francisco Hon. Val P Pinat together with his wife Hon. Vice Mayor Maria Luz B Pinat, Members of the Sangguniang Bayan, Officials of the Local Government Unit of San Francisco, representatives from partner agencies the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary 1503rd Squadron, valued stakeholders, distinguished guests and members of the community whose unwavering support contributed to the realization of this important ceremony.
