ππππ: Demonstrating its steadfast commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the public, the Coast Guard Sub-Station Tagana-an led by Petty Officer First Class Rolante B Ramos PCG under the direct supervision of the Station Commander Lieutenant Junior Grade Roy Christopher R Orillaneda PCG successfully rendered the Day 1 of Day 2 District/Municipal Meet Swimming Competition held at Barangay Banban, Tagana-an, Surigao del Norte today, 07 August 2026.
The deployment was conducted in response to the request of the Department of Education (DepEd), Schools Division of Surigao del Norte wherein CGSS Tagana-an and Coast Guard Special Operations Group - Northeastern Mindanao (CGSOG-NEM) personnel provided maritime safety coverage throughout the conduct of the sporting event and maintain a vigilant presence by strategically positioning rescue teams and lifesaving equipment within the competition area, ensuring immediate response capability in the event of any water-related emergency.
This collaborative effort highlights the Philippine Coast Guardβs unwavering dedication to protecting lives and supporting community activities, particularly those involving students and youth. Likewise, continuous monitoring and close coordination with event organizers and partner agencies are maintained for safe, secure and orderly conduct of the said activity.
PCG-CGS SDN remains committed to promoting a culture of preparedness and public safety by providing reliable maritime services and emergency response when needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.
