Infra, Investments Discussed at Pampanga Business Circle Consultative Meeting
CLARK, PAMPANGA — The Pampanga Business Circle (PBC) led a consultative meeting with Senator Bam Aquino and NLEX President Luis Reñon on Friday, March 20, to discuss legislative and infrastructure proposals aimed at accelerating economic growth in Central Luzon.
The dialogue served as a platform for local stakeholders to align private sector proposals with national development plans.
Key proposals included transforming Clark International Airport (CRK) into an SME-led aviation hub and passing a “freehold law” for select BCDA lands to provide permanent land security and attract long-term capital.
Senator Aquino committed to supporting these regional initiatives through legislation, emphasizing that policy must reflect the actual needs of the local business community.
On the infrastructure front, NLEX President Luis Reñon addressed the progress of the Ninoy Aquino Bypass Road (Calulut to Mexico), designed to link the City of San Fernando and Mexico town to decongest the NLEX Mexico Exit. Reñon assured the group of NLEX Corporation’s support in advancing local community development. Discussions also covered the proposed NLEX Elevated Highway and the transition to a barrierless toll system.
The PBC is a fellowship of business leaders, professionals, and emerging entrepreneurs committed to advancing inclusive growth and sustainable development in Central Luzon. Led by Fellowship Director Felix Asuncion, Deputy Fellowship Director Vickee Ong, and Executive Director Joyce Del Rosario, the group serves as a leadership training ground for ethical leaders and policy advocates.
"The PBC is an informal organization, but we are focused on community development to contribute to nation-building," said PBC Senior Fellow Rene G. Romero, who advises the group alongside fellow mentor Pruds Garcia.
A second consultative meeting will be scheduled with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev), and concerned local mayors to further the development of these projects.
