PNP STATEMENT
On PNP Preparedness for the Approaching Typhoon Uwan

The Philippine National Police is now in full preparation mode for the incoming Typhoon “Uwan” expected to affect parts of the country in the coming days. As early as this morning, I have directed all Regional Directors and Unit Commanders to activate their respective disaster response plans and ensure readiness on the ground.

We have already pre-positioned search, rescue, and relief teams in areas identified as high-risk for flooding, landslides, and storm surges. Additional police personnel will also be deployed to evacuation centers, major roads, vital installations, and commercial areas to maintain peace and order and assist in crowd and traffic management.

Our units are working in close coordination with the NDRRMC, AFP, Coast Guard, and local government units to ensure a unified and efficient response before, during, and after landfall. We are also coordinating with the Department of Social Welfare and Development for relief distribution support, and with the Department of Transportation to secure terminals and ports.

To the public, we assure you that the PNP is prepared, equipped, and on standby 24/7 to respond to emergencies, rescue operations, and calls for assistance. We urge everyone to take safety advisories seriously, prepare necessary supplies, and evacuate when instructed by authorities.

This is a time for shared responsibility. While the PNP commits to its duty of protection and service, we need the cooperation of every Filipino to keep families and communities safe.

Maraming salamat. Stay safe, Pilipinas.

PNP STRENGTHENS REGIONAL TIES AT 43RD ASEANAPOL, GEARS UP TO HOST 44TH ASSEMBLY IN MANILA

The Philippine National Police (PNP), led by Acting Chief PNP, Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., together with Acting Chief PNP for Administration, Police Lieutenant General Bernard C. Banac, represented the country at the 43rd Association of Southeast Asian Nations National Police (ASEANAPOL) Conference held this week in Thailand.

The high-level regional assembly gathered top police officials from across Southeast Asia to strengthen cooperation in combating transnational crimes, terrorism, cybercrimes, and human trafficking.

PLTGEN Nartatez Jr expressed the PNP’s full commitment to regional peace and security, echoing the guidance of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. toward a safer and more secure ASEAN community.

“The Philippines remains steadfast in its commitment to shared peace and justice across the ASEAN region. Under the vision of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., we will continue to foster strong partnerships and mutual trust among our ASEAN counterparts,” said PLTGEN Nartatez Jr.

The PNP delegation also announced the country’s preparation to host the 44th ASEANAPOL Conference in Manila in 2026, marking another milestone for Philippine law enforcement diplomacy.

“This is a great opportunity to showcase how the PNP has evolved into a modern, competent, and globally-engaged police organization—one that upholds professionalism, innovation, and integrity,” PLTGEN Nartatez Jr added.

PNP Spokesperson PBGen Randulf T. Tuaño said the hosting in 2026 will not only highlight the country’s leadership in promoting police cooperation but also reaffirm the Philippines’ readiness to lead dialogues on regional security priorities.

“We take pride in representing the Filipino people on the ASEAN stage. The upcoming 44th ASEANAPOL in Manila will reflect our collective resolve, to ensure peace, order, and progress across the region,” PBGen Tuaño said.

The PNP’s active role in ASEANAPOL continues to affirm the country’s dedication to advancing law enforcement collaboration and building a safer future for all ASEAN nations.
