Vice Mayor Michael I. Buzon recently visited the Navotas Fish Port Complex and met with Assistant Director Cerespink A. Aguila, Navotas City Mayor John Reynald M. Tiangco, and Vice Mayor Hon. Tito M. Sanchez. The visit served as an opportunity to strengthen ties between local government leaders and to gain valuable insights from the successful operations of the Navotas Fish Port Complex, recognized as one of Asia’s largest fish port complexes, with a land area of 47 hectares and an ongoing development of an additional 25-hectare reclaimed area.
During the meeting, discussions focused on fisheries development, sustainable livelihood opportunities, and possible collaborations that could greatly benefit the Municipality of Salug. Officials from Navotas also expressed their willingness and interest to visit Salug in support of the municipality’s proposed fishing port project.
The proposed visit is expected to provide valuable recommendations and technical insights that may contribute to the planning and future development of the proposed fishing port in Salug, further advancing the municipality’s fisheries industry and promoting local economic growth.
