Congressman Thirdy Marañon - Ca Sa Ma CaSaMa or Cadiz-Sagay-Manapla is the 2nd District Development Alliance of Negros Occidental.

CASAMA's Mission: To bring the 2nd District's stakeholders together in a united effort to realize their shared aspirations. CASAMA's Vision: To be a dynamic, forward-looking vehicle for coordinated and sustainable development of the Second Congressional District of Negros Occidental, and to serve as a platform for the formulation and execution of strategic development plans, programs and activities that contribute towards towards the realization of the aspirations of CaSaMa LGUs' and their constituents. CASAMA's Objectives: To integrate, harmonize and coordinate all development initiatives of the CaSaMa LGUs', the Congressional office and other development partners; To pursue the generation and efficient utilization of needed resources; To enhance the CaSaMa LGUs' capabilities and skills in planning' implementing, and evaluating development programs and projects.

Padayon ang aton nga pagbuligay batok sa Red Striped Scale Insect (RSSI) nga nakaapekto sa mga tubuhan sa Sagay City, labi na gid sa aton mga gamay nga manug-uma.

Sa ginpatigayon nga RSSI Task Force Meeting sang Agosto 13, gin-usisa namon ang kahimtangan sang mga apektado nga uma kag ang mga tikang nga ginahimo agud mapunggan ang paglapta sang peste.

Sa subong, kapin 5,800 ka ektarya sang tubuhan sa Sagay ang naapektuhan. Apang nagapakita sang maayo nga resulta ang spraying program, kag kapin 1,000 ka ektarya na ang nagpakita sang pagbangon.

Padayon man ang paggamit sang drone, mobile, kag manual spraying depende sa sitwasyon sang uma. Importante ang pagsunod sa nagakaigo nga pamaagi sang pag-spray agud mas mangin epektibo ang pagpakigbatok sa RSSI.

Para sa mga tanom nga indi na marekober, may ara sang Rapid Propagation Program agud mabuligan ang mga gamay nga manug-uma sa pag-ilis sang ila mga tanom.

Ginatan-aw man ang paggamit sang Calamity Fund agud makahatag sang dugang nga bulig sa mga apektado nga manug-uma.

Nagapasalamat ako sa tanan nga lokal nga opisyal, mga kapitan sang barangay, mga ahensya sang gobyerno, kag labi sa tanan, sa aton mga manug-uma nga padayon nga nagabuligay agud mapunggan ang RSSI kag maprotektahan ang ila pangabuhi.

Today, we marked an important milestone for Sagay National High School with the groundbreaking of a new 3-storey, 18-classroom building worth P90 million.

I am grateful to the Okada Foundation Inc. and the City Government of Sagay for making this project possible. This partnership started from our discussions with the Okada Foundation, including their visit to Sagay and inspection of the proposed site about two years ago.

With nearly 4,800 students at SNHS and 12 sections currently using makeshift classrooms, this new building will provide much-needed permanent learning spaces. We expect its construction to be completed within one year.

Sagay National High School is our central high school, and we know there is still so much more that we can do for our students. Aside from classrooms, we also hope to provide better spaces for arts, theater, music, sports, and other programs. We also continue to dream of having an auditorium where our students can showcase their talents and school activities can be held.

This project is more than just a new building. It is an investment in the students of Sagay today and in the generations who will study here in the future.

To our students, I hope you make the most of these opportunities. Study well, attend your classes, listen to your teachers, and continue working toward your dreams.

When we dream and work together for those dreams, we can make them a reality.

Strengthening Philippine Education, Looking Beyond Borders

Today at Balay Kauswagan, Sagay City, I had the privilege of meeting with the leaders of Philippine Normal University Visayas for meaningful discussions on the 2026 Global Educator’s Field Journal, the PNU National University for Teacher Education (NUTE) Bill, the importance of internationalization in Philippine education, and the future development of the university.

I was joined by 𝘿𝙧. 𝙍𝙖𝙡𝙜𝙚𝙧 𝘿. 𝙅𝙤𝙘𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙅𝙧., Executive Director and Provost; 𝘿𝙧. 𝙂𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙖 𝘼𝙧𝙡𝙮𝙣 𝙂. 𝙂𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙝𝙤, Dean for Academics & the Hub; 𝘿𝙞𝙧. 𝙅𝙪𝙣𝙚 𝙁𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙂. 𝙂𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙖𝙣, Director for Administration, Finance & Planning; and 𝘿𝙧. 𝘼𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙤𝙣 𝘼. 𝘿𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙢𝙤 𝙅𝙧., Director for Research, Extension, Quality Assurance and Planning.

‎It was a privilege to serve as the Guest Speaker during the 53rd Commencement Exercises of the Philippine Normal University Visayas, held at the Cadiz City Arena, and to share in the celebration of the graduates' well-earned success.

‎Standing before the Class of 2026 was a reminder that every graduate carries not only a diploma but also the responsibility of shaping lives through education. As you step into the profession, I hope you remain grounded in your purpose and committed to serving with excellence, compassion, and integrity. While the world continues to evolve through innovation and technology, the influence of a dedicated teacher will always extend beyond what any machine can offer.
