Today, June 1, 2026, the 2026 Brigada Eskwela officially commenced, with the Roxas City Jail Female Dormitory proudly participating as a committed community partner in this meaningful national initiative.
Anchored on this year’s theme, “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman,” the program highlights the spirit of unity and volunteerism in creating safe, conducive, and learner-centered educational environments. Beyond improving school facilities, Brigada Eskwela also underscores the importance of strengthening literacy and fostering academic excellence among students.
Through collaborative efforts and unwavering support from various stakeholders, this initiative reflects a shared commitment to empowering the youth and advancing quality education for all. Together, we continue to build stronger schools, nurture lifelong learners, and inspire communities through the enduring spirit of bayanihan.

Today’s Activities | Roxas City Jail–Female Dormitory💖

Under the leadership of JINSP ROWENA V MAGALLANES, Acting Warden, Roxas City Jail–Female Dormitory conducted various activities today aimed at promoting the well-being, security, and spiritual growth of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL). The day featured the display of livelihood products made by PDL, showcasing their talents, creativity, and hard work. Face-to-face visitation was also conducted, allowing PDL to spend meaningful time with their families and loved ones.

To maintain the safety and orderliness of the facility, regular security procedures such as facility inspection and banging of grills were carried out. PDL also participated in the daily 3 O’Clock Prayer, followed by Zumba Therapy to promote physical fitness and wellness. The day concluded with the Holy Rosary, fostering faith, reflection, and unity among the PDL and personnel. These activities reflect the facility’s continued commitment to providing a secure, productive, and supportive environment.

Prayerfulness strengthens the heart, enlightens the mind, and brings peace to the soul.

On May 28, 2026, at exactly 4:06 PM, Value Focus No. 21 entitled “Prayerfulness” was successfully conducted inside the facility with the active participation of ten (10) personnel. The activity was carried out under the guidance and full support of the administration headed by Acting Warden JINSP ROWENA V. MAGALLANES. It aimed to inspire and strengthen the spiritual values, moral integrity, and emotional well-being of the participants by emphasizing the importance of prayer and unwavering faith in everyday life.

The meaningful activity was facilitated by SJO2 Maritess D. Demontaño, who served as the speaker. Through her insightful discussion, she highlighted the true essence of prayerfulness not merely as spoken words, but as a sincere expression of faith reflected through righteous actions, discipline, humility, compassion, and respect for others. She reminded everyone that a prayerful heart leads to a peaceful mind and a purposeful life.Moreover SJO2 Candelaria E. Morania, VRP Officer together with JO2 Janice B. Ambuan Unit Welfare and Development Officer enriched the discussion by encouraging the participants to deepen their relationship with God especially during times of trials and uncertainties. They emphasized that prayer serves as a powerful source of strength, hope, wisdom, and inner peace that guides individuals in making sound decisions and overcoming life’s challenges. The personnel were also encouraged to remain faithful, optimistic, and united in fostering harmony and positivity within the facility.

The activity became more meaningful and interactive as participants attentively listened, actively participated, and openly shared their reflections and personal experiences regarding the value of prayerfulness in their daily lives. The conduct of the activity not only strengthened spiritual awareness among the personnel but also promoted unity, encouragement, and a renewed sense of faith and purpose.

Bridging the Gap Between Classroom and Field: Shaping Competent and Service Oriented Criminologists

Personnel of Roxas City Jail Female Dormitory participated in the Curriculum Revision and Consultation Meeting for the Bachelor of Science in Criminology program held at the Criminal Justice Education Department of CAPSU Dayao Satellite College.

The meeting focused on reviewing, updating, and aligning the Criminology curriculum with current standards, industry demands, and the operational realities of the Criminal Justice System, particularly in the field of Corrections and Jail Management. As key stakeholders, BJMP representatives provided valuable inputs regarding the competencies, knowledge, and skills required for future criminologists, especially in the areas of humane safekeeping, rehabilitation, security, and legal procedures involving Person Deprived of Liberty.

The activity fostered stronger collaboration between the academic institution and the BJMP, ensuring that the academic program remains relevant, responsive, and capable of producing graduates who are well prepared to serve in the different pillars of the criminal justice system.

22 May 2026| In celebration of Mother's Day, Roxas City Jail - Female Dormitory under the leadership of JINSP ROWENA V MAGALLANES,
Acting Warden successfully conducted the
"Wonderful Raffle para kay Wonder Mother" Raffle Draw participated in by all female persons deprived of liberty (PDL). The activity was organized to honor and appreciate the mothers inside the facility through a joyful and meaningful celebration.

The event became more lively and memorable with dance, singing, and acting performances rendered by selected female PDL as their heartfelt tribute to all mothers. The presentations showcased their talents, gratitude, and love for their families, bringing smiles and emotional moments to everyone present during the activity. One of the highlights of the celebration was the raffle draw where exciting prizes were given away. The 1st Prize winner received a 10-kilogram sack of rice, the 2nd Prize winner received a grocery package, while the 3rd Prize winner took a clip fan. Five consolation winners also received assorted hygiene kits.

The activity aimed not only to provide entertainment and prizes but also to uplift the morale of the female PDL and remind them that motherhood is valued and celebrated regardless of circumstances.
Through this simple gathering, the spirit of love, appreciation, and hope was shared among the participants, making the Mother's Day celebration inside the facility truly meaningful and memorable.

POLITICAL NEUTRALITY: TRUE SERVICE KNOWS NO POLITICAL SIDE

SJO2 Candelaria E. Morania Unit VRP Officer served as the speaker and discussed the importance of Political Neutrality in public service. The speaker emphasized that jail personnel must remain non-partisan and uphold professionalism, integrity, and fairness in the performance of their duties regardless of political affiliations or personal interests. It was highlighted that government employees, particularly uniformed personnel, must maintain public trust by refraining from engaging in political activities that may compromise the neutrality and credibility of the organization.
Further elaboration on the topic was rendered by JO1 Mike Jewell Degollado, who stressed that political neutrality promotes discipline, unity, and impartiality within the organization. He encouraged all personnel to continue demonstrating professionalism and dedication to public service while respecting the constitutional mandate of maintaining neutrality in political matters.

The activity concluded successfully with the participants gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation of the significance of Political Neutrality as one of the core values expected from every personnel in the organization.
