WATCH: FIRE SAFETY AWARENESS SEMINAR

In partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) this unit, under the leadership of SJO4 Edna M. Iglesia, Acting Municipal Jail had a successful Fire Safety Awareness Seminar that was facilitated by FO1 Aljay Dela Torre. The activity as well was participated by the Personnel and Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) of Male and Female Dormitories. During the seminar, FO1 Dela Torre discussed the common causes of fire incidents, the fire tetrahedron, and the dangers of unsafe electrical practices such as octopus connections.

Participants were also oriented on the types and proper use of fire extinguishers, including practical demonstrations to enhance their preparedness in responding to fire emergencies. Further, the activity aimed to strengthen fire safety awareness and promote a safer environment within the facility.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: Rank Inspection and Personnel Accounting

Yesterday, June 04, 2026, SJO4 Edna M. Iglesia, Acting Municipal Jail Warden, conducted the Monthly Rank Inspection and Personnel Accounting at the San Mateo Municipal Jail Sunning Area.

The activity underscored the critical importance of rank inspection as a proactive measure to ensure full personnel accountability, strict uniform compliance, and optimal operational readiness. This initiative plays a vital role in preventing security lapses and maintaining order within the facility during a period when vigilance must be at its highest.

More importantly, it highlighted the unit’s unwavering commitment to strengthening custodial security, sustaining institutional preparedness, and upholding peace and order at all times.

𝙄𝙉 𝙋𝙃𝙊𝙏𝙊𝙎: NTF-ELCAC Information Drive and Distribution of Flyers to the Community

The San Mateo Municipal Jail Female Dormitory, under the leadership of SJO4 Edna M. Iglesia, Acting Municipal Jail Warden, through the Unit Community Relations Service Officer, conducted an information drive and flyer distribution campaign on the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) within the community.

The activity aimed to increase public awareness of the government’s programs and initiatives under the Whole-of-Nation Approach in addressing insurgency. Informational materials were distributed to residents to promote understanding of NTF-ELCAC’s efforts toward sustaining peace, fostering development, and strengthening unity among the local populace.

This initiative reflects the unit’s continued commitment to community engagement and its support for programs that encourage peace, cooperation, and inclusive development.

IN PHOTOS: NATIONAL NO SMOKING MONTH

This unit, under the leadership of SJO4 Edna M. Iglesia, Acting Municipal Jail Warden, conducted a lecture on smoking prevention in observance of National No Smoking Month. The activity was facilitated by JO2 Rowena G. Pospos, Unit Nurse.

The lecture was attended by both personnel and Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) and aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of cigarette smoking and va**ng on health. JO2 Pospos discussed the risks associated with to***co and v**e use and highlighted the importance of adopting a healthy, smoke-free lifestyle.

She further emphasized that prevention is always better than cure and encouraged participants to make informed choices to protect themselves from the dangerous effects of smoking.

WATCH: HANGING OF THE NATIONAL FLAG

In observance of National Flag Days, celebrated from May 28, 2026 to June 12, 2026, this unit, under the leadership of SJO4 Edna M. Iglesia, Acting Municipal Jail Warden, together with its personnel, conducted the hanging of the Philippine National Flag and flaglets within the premises of the facility.

The activity aimed to promote patriotism, nationalism, and respect for the Philippine National Flag among personnel and Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs). It also served as a reminder of the significance of the national flag as a symbol of the country's sovereignty, unity, and identity.
