Welcome aboard! New members and officers of the Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) Organization for SY. 2022-2023!

On the 15th of September, 2022, the orientation and election for Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) Organization took place at Paaralang Sekundarya ng Lucban Integrated School (PSLIS) covered court, 3 pm. It is an unexpected event, but the officials of the BKD Organization handled it without turbulence. There are more than 75 students who joined the orientation and election of the program, which consists of Grade 10-12 students of PSLIS.

The orientation led by Mrs. Veluz and Ms. Nañadiego ended successfully. They helped the new members of the BKD Organization have a deeper understanding of the advocacy of the organization and its advantages to members and the community. After the orientation, the organization's election took place with the help of Mrs. Caren V. Maguyon (BKD Adviser), Ms. Dannah Abuan (President of BKD), and Mr. Jedrick Manaog (Vice President of BKD). The officers who were chosen this year will serve as the members' leaders in planning and carrying out organizational operations.

Before the event was finished, the participants were grouped according to their specific talents and abilities, including the project committee, writing, singing, dancing, acting, and creativity. Each group has been assigned specific tasks, which can help the organization and its members become more familiar with the environment of the BKD Organization. The members of the BKD Organization were expected to be responsible, knowledgeable, have a connection with each other, and be an active participant in this organization.

Again, welcome aboard! New officers and members of the BKD Organization for SY. 2022-2023!

Day 3 of the DRRM Youth Camp (August 5, 2022)
For the last day of this camp, every participant is expected to apply the knowledge gained from the Climate Change Adaptation's discussion and so, this last day is the most challenging yet most memorable activity as we head our way to Palsabangon Mangrove Swamp Forest Reserve. Everyone is enlightened first about the place and things need to do and avoid in this Forest Reserve before starting the Mangrove Planting activity which is 800 m far from the place we stayed. That 800 m obstacle-like distance proves that every leader, youth and adviser are determined to help saving our environment and species. After the Mangrove Planting, we went to the view deck of the place to enjoy the nature around this place. Of course, to officially end the 3-day camp, a closing ceremony was held to acknowledge everyone's effort and dedication in being a part of this activity.

Day 1 & 2 of DRRM Youth Camp (Aug. 3-4, 2022)

A lot of learnings have been shared throughout the first two days of this camp. All of the youth, adviser, and the rest have accepted the challenge to gain knowledge and experience on saving lives by going through different learning stations such as the 1) Basic Life Support (BLS), 2) Emergency Response Team (ERT), 3) Gabay at Mapa, 4) Bandaging, and 5) Climate Change Adaptation (CCA). Participants were also enlightened on how to prevent disasters and things to do once we encounter such disasters specifically fire incidents. During those first two days, everyone has enjoyed the activities especially the 1) Cultural's Night, wherein the Lucban Delegation has received an award for being a 2nd placer in this activity , and the 2) Life Coaching, wherein sir Lloyd Gener Pallan has shared an inspiring story that can change your perspective in life.
