As persistent monsoon rains continue to affect Luzon—causing widespread flooding and leaving evacuation areas waterlogged and muddy—our team stepped forward to support affected communities. Guided by our Battalion Commander, LTC Alexander Romulo R. Ong (GSC) PA (RES), and supported by AFLO-NCR led by LTC Benjamin D. Tomboc PA, we organized a donation drive and relief distribution for 115 evacuee families staying at Montalban Integrated School Annex, AFP-PNP Housing, Katipunan Village, providing vital relief packages containing rice, canned goods, noodles, clothing, and blankets.

While in transit, our team demonstrated true readiness when we came across a cyclist who had just sustained a deep foot injury after a stick pierced through his shoe. Although the victim had already removed the stick himself, our rescue-trained personnel immediately stepped in to render first aid—treating the severe puncture wound, stopping the bleeding, and dressing it properly to prevent further infection—before advising urgent medical follow-up.

Huge thanks to our commanders, donors, and front-line personnel who showed that service to the community happens everywhere, every step of the way!

The 855th (AYIN) Electrical Engineering Service Battalion, ARU, led by LTC ALEXANDER ROMULO R ONG (GSC) PA (RES), operating under the Reserve Command, Armed Forces of the Philippines (RESCOM, AFP) and guided by the RESCOM, AFP Field Liaison Office - National Capital Region (AFLO-NCR), successfully conducted a Medical Mission at "Bisig ng Komunidad" Alley 1, Sta. Ana Kanan, Brgy Sta Ana, Pateros, Metro Manila.

In strong partnership with the 11th Civil-Military Operations Battalion and 12th Civil-Military Operations Battalion under the National Capital Region Command (NCRCOM), together with our valued partners, the Rotary Club of Vertis North and the dedicated doctors and volunteers from the Philippine Medical Students' Association (PMSA), the joint outreach delivered essential public services to a total of 240 beneficiaries. The initiative provided general medical consultations for adults, pediatric check-ups for children, and specialized optical examinations tailored for senior citizens. Alongside the health services, residents received free prescribed medicines and essential vitamins from the pharmacy, while local children took advantage of free haircuts. To foster patriotism and national security awareness, the 11CMOBn and 12CMOBn also spearheaded the West Philippine Sea (WPS) Awareness Campaign through "Oplan Mulat," anchored on the theme "Our Seas, Our Rights, Our Future."

The 855th EESBn extends its deepest gratitude to all officers, reservists, partner units, and local community leaders whose collaborative efforts made this mission in Pateros a success. Our battalion remains steadfast in its dedication to serving the nation and uplifting local communities.

Rain or shine, service to the community never stops! Despite inclement weather and active weather developments being monitored today - the 855th Ayin Electrical Engineering Battalion (EESBn), under the solid support and guidance of the RESCOM, AFP, and its AFP RESCOM AFLO - NCR, in partnership with the Parish Pastoral Council of San Antonio de Padua Parish, the Inner Wheel Club of Rosario Diamond, District 382, Rotary Club Vertis North, and the dedicated doctors and volunteers from the Philippine Medical Students' Association (PMSA), successfully spearheaded a joint Medical Mission on August 08, 2026.

Braving the heavy rains and challenging conditions, organizers, medical personnel, and volunteers stood shoulder-to-shoulder to deliver vital healthcare support directly to the community. Through this collective effort, a total of 148 beneficiaries were served across General Medicine consultations, Pediatric care, and Optical services with free eyeglasses, and free medicines.

The 855th Ayin EESBn extends its deepest gratitude to our co-organizers, the PMSA doctors, medical volunteers, and community leaders whose unwavering dedication made this mission possible. Weathering the storm together proves that no rainfall can dampen our shared spirit of duty, compassion, and service. Rain or shine, we remain steadfast in our commitment to uplifting and safeguarding our fellow citizens.

Following up on our training kick-off last weekend, our personnel completed the second and final weekend of our intensive Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) Training!

Building on last week's foundational concepts, the team went fully hands-on to master individual and conventional CPR protocols, rapid bandaging, fracture splinting, and safe patient lifting and moving techniques. To cap off the course, they executed full patient packaging using the Long Spine Board (LBB) and strap systems, ensuring every casualty can be stabilized and safely evacuated during critical emergencies. With this multi-weekend training complete, our personnel stand sharper, stronger, and fully equipped with the operational capability to respond when every second counts. Check out the action shots from their final practical sessions below!
