The Schools Division Office of Quezon City's Curriculum Implementation Division (CID), in alignment with the Department of Education's thrust to enhance instructional leadership, is conducting a significant Division Capability Building program. This training is specifically designed to strengthen the quality of assessment and supervision under the Expanded Career Progression (ECP) Framework, with a focus on its application during the National Learning Camp (NLC) implementation.
The primary goal of this initiative is to advance the expertise of Master Teachers and Head Teachers by equipping them with the necessary skills to serve as valid and consistent assessors and raters.
Key Areas of Focus and Expected Outcomes:
The training is structured around deepening the participants' understanding and practical application of the core assessment tools and indicators used for performance evaluation. This includes:
PPST-aligned indicators
Classroom Observable Indicators (COIs)
Non-Classroom Observable Indicators (NCOIs)
The Behavioral Events Interview (BEI)
By the end of the capability building, the Master Teachers and Head Teachers are expected to achieve the following specific objectives:
Enhanced Competencies: Sharpen their skills in conducting reliable and valid classroom observations and assessments.
Common Understanding: Develop a shared knowledge of the rating tools, rubrics, and performance indicators, ensuring they are perfectly aligned with NLC standards and the PPST (Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers).
Assessor Consistency: Establish readiness and consistency in providing developmental feedback to teachers who are implementing varied lessons.
Professional Growth: Foster an environment that promotes professionalism, collaboration, and reflective supervision among the critical group of teacher-raters and assessors.
To ensure comprehensive and inclusive coverage, the training is being extended to include the remaining Master Teachers and Head Teachers from both elementary and secondary levels within the Schools Division Office of Quezon City.
