From the halls of learning to the service of the nation, Lt. Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete comes home to his alma mater to ignite leadership, excellence, and patriotism among tomorrow's leaders and nation-builders.

Fondly called "Toto" by those close to him, Lt. Gen. Nafarrete is a proud member of West Visayas State University Laboratory High School Class of 1986. Today, he stands as the 67th Commanding General of the Philippine Army and a full-blooded Scout Ranger. He has led troops in every major mission across the archipelago, pioneered peace-building programs that brought displaced families back to their homes, and now leads the 110,000-strong Philippine Army under a clear and powerful leadership mantra: "Our People is Our Strength."

True to WVSU's motto "Where Excellence is a Tradition", Lt. Gen. Nafarrete is transforming the Philippine Army into a formidable fighting force guided by unyielding excellence and unwavering service to the nation.

LOOK: AFPRESCOM participates in Brigada Eskwela, Through School Partnership

CAMP EMILIO AGUINALDO, Quezon City- The AFPRESCOM, under the watch of BGEN FERDINAND GEMINIC P RAMIREZ PA, in partnership with the Teodora Alonzo Elementary School, District III, Quezon City, led by Ms. Shirley Alambra, held a Brigada Eskwela 2026 event on June 1, 2026.

Prior to Brigada Eskwela, a parade was conducted, participated in by the Chief of AFLO-NCR, led by LTC BENJAMIN D TOMBOC PA, alongside reservists from the 855th (AYIN), affiliated reserve units of AFPRESCOM, as well as school teachers led by their school head, learners, PNP counterparts, partner and volunteer stakeholders, barangay official from nearby communities, and other civilian volunteers.

A simple program was conducted, followed by the signing of a wall of commitment led by the school head alongside the partner and volunteer stakeholders. Respective heads and representatives from various agencies delivered their messages in support of Brigada Eskwela.

This initiative demonstrates their commitment to supporting the Department of Education's call for collaboration among stakeholders to create an orderly, clean, safe, and conducive learning environment, not only for school teachers but for all learners within the Joint Operational Area (JOA) of NCRCOM, AFP under the direction of MGEN GREGORIO B HERNANDEZ JR PN(M).

The TAES family is deeply grateful for the time, effort, and dedication of the men-in-uniform and reservists during Brigada Eskwela. Their support serves as an inspiration for community involvement and shared responsibility in education in preparation for the school opening of classes SY 2026.

There is a saying, "Small things as they are, we do big things for the community, especially for the beneficiaries, and we can make a difference in providing a better learning environment for every learner."

PHILCCOM in Action: Brigada Eskwela 2026 πŸ‡΅πŸ‡­

UPDATE | AFLO-NCR, AFPRESCOM through its 701st (PHILCCOM) Signal Bn, Affiliated Reserve Unit under MAJOR CHRISTOPHER M ALISCAD PA (RES) jointly conducted Brigada Eskwela 2026 with the theme: Bayanihan sa Paaralan, Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman, in collaboration with the faculty and staff of Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School at District II, Quezon City, on May 31, 2026.

This was participated in by the faculty and staff of the learning institutions, which was attended by Chief, AFLO-NCR, LTC BENJAMIN D TOMBOC PA, under the Joint Operational Area (JOA) of NCRCOM, AFP. These are in preparation for the opening of classes for the School Year 2026.

The activity was successfully accomplished through volunteerism and teamwork among reservists and faculty who helped prepare a clean, orderly, safe, and conducive learning environment for pupils. A small and simple act of service, but a big and lasting impact not only for the school management but also for the community as well.

AFPWSSU RC conducts Semi-Annual AFP Affiliated Reserve Units Conference

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City- The AFP Wide Support Unit Reserve Center, AFPRESCOM, conducted the 1st Semi-Annual AFP Affiliated Reserve Units Conference via video teleconference (VTC). The activity was facilitated by the Office of the Affiliated Reserve Group and presided over by CAPT ARNOLD D VALIDA PN(GSC), Director, AFPWSSU Reserve Center, AFPRESCOM. It was attended by the Assistant Chief of Joint Reserve Staff for Operations, JRS3; AFPARUs Battalion Commanders, representatives, and Liaison Officers from all AFPRESCOM Field and Liaison Offices (AFLOs) on May 23, 2026 at 9:00 O'clock in the morning.

The conference aims to disseminate important information, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, and guidance from Headquarters, as well as to provide important reminders to all concerned units.

During the conference, LTCOL ARNEL CALAOAGAN (INF) (GSC) PA, JRS3, presented updates and key points discussed during the 1st Quarter Reserve Force Development (RFD) Conference. Meanwhile, LTCOL BENJAMIN TOMBOC (INF) PA, Liaison Officer, AFLO-NCR, recommended standardized presentation templates for AFPARUs during visitations and inspections, and clarified the flow of communications from requesting units and offices to concerned AFLOs. In the open forum, all queries raised by the attendees were adequately addressed.

In his closing remarks, the Director of AFPWSSU RC expressed his appreciation to all attendees for their active participation. He further encouraged all AFPARUs to remain proactive, disciplined, and mission-ready at all times, emphasizing their vital role as force multipliers in support of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
