𝐀𝐅𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐂𝐎𝐌 @ 𝟑𝟑: 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭, 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐧-𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines Reserve Command (AFPRESCOM) celebrated its 33rd Founding Anniversary with a meaningful ceremony themed “Paggunita sa Nakaraan, Pagdiriwang para sa Kinabukasan.” The event featured solemn blessing of newly issued vehicles, a look back at AFPRESCOM’s journey through an AVP, and recognition of outstanding regular and reserve personnel, units, and Stakeholders.

Gracing the occasion was Lieutenant General Romel P. Roldan PAF, Vice Chief of Staff, AFP, whose keynote message highlighted the vital role of reservists in nation-building. He emphasized that the country is shaped not only by past heroes but also by modern Filipinos—citizen-soldiers who balance civilian life with service. More than warriors, reservists are public servants contributing across sectors, proving that service in the reserve force is equally noble as in the regular force.

He also recognized AFPRESCOM’s impact in disaster response, medical missions, and initiatives like the Laang Kawal Run—demonstrating resilience, unity, and compassion in action. Above all, he underscored that service is a shared responsibility, calling on reservists to remain proactive and united in building a safer, stronger nation.

At 33, AFPRESCOM stands proud—driven by purpose, strengthened by its people, and committed to a future of service and excellence.

🏃‍♂️ 𝐋𝐚𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐮𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔: 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞, 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭, 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞

“Paggunita sa Nakaraan, Pagdiriwang sa Kinabukasan”
Before the sun even fully rose, the grounds of Headquarters, AFP Reserve Command were already alive with energy. At exactly 5:00 AM, the Laang Kawal Run 2026 burst into action—bringing together around 1,000 runners united by one powerful purpose: to remember, to celebrate, and to move forward as one.

Composed of AFP personnel, reservists, and civilians, the sea of runners reflected a strong and growing community—bound not just by fitness, but by patriotism and shared commitment. Leading the event was BGEN Ferdinand Geminic P. Ramirez PA, Commander of the AFP Reserve Command, whose presence set the tone for a meaningful and inspiring gathering.

This year’s theme, “Paggunita sa Nakaraan, Pagdiriwang sa Kinabukasan,” echoed in every step taken. Each stride honored the sacrifices and heroism of those who came before, while every finish line crossed symbolized hope, strength, and a brighter future ahead.

The program opened with a solemn prayer, grounding everyone in gratitude and purpose, followed by the proud singing of the Philippine National Anthem. Soon after, the atmosphere shifted—music filled the air as participants joined a high-energy Zumba session, laughter and excitement building as everyone geared up for the run.

And then—it began.
💥 The 10K runners took off first, determined and focused.
💥 The 5K group followed, bringing intensity and drive.
💥 Finally, the 3K runners hit the course, proving that no distance is too small when it’s for a meaningful cause.

From the first step to the final stretch, the event was a powerful display of endurance, unity, and the true “Laang Kawal” spirit—resilient, disciplined, and unstoppable.

Cheers filled the air as runners crossed the finish line, greeted by fellow participants and supporters. The excitement carried on into the awarding ceremony, where the top three finishers in each category were recognized—not just for their speed, but for their grit and determination.

𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐚: 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐮𝐭𝐲
A sense of pride, purpose, and quiet determination filled Rizal Hall of HAFPRESCOM, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City, as LTC RENE M GASMIDO “A” PA (RES) and thirteen (13) fellow Reservist Officers from the Affiliated Reserve Group and Technical Administrative Service Group formally donned their new ranks on April 23, 2026.

Surrounded by their families, fellow reservists, and guests, the newly promoted and commissioned officers marked a significant milestone—one that reflects not only achievement, but a deeper commitment to serve the nation.

In his message, AFPRESCOM Commander BGEN FERDINAND GEMINIC P RAMIREZ PA emphasized that the ceremony goes beyond rank and recognition:

“The donning of ranks carries profound meaning; it is not merely the wearing of insignia but the acceptance of responsibility, discipline, and a renewed oath to uphold the honor of the armed forces.”

He underscored that promotion is both a privilege and a responsibility, urging officers to lead with integrity, professionalism, and purpose. He also reminded them of the unique strength of reservists—their ability to balance civilian life with military duty, serving as “force multipliers in times of crisis and instruments of stability in times of peace.”

Closing his message, he encouraged the honorees to embody the values of service and humility:

“Wear your rank with pride but with humility—but more importantly, wear it with purpose.”

The ceremony concluded with a renewed sense of duty among the officers—ready to take on greater responsibilities and continue serving with honor, dedication, and patriotism.
