Today marks the 48th Anniversary of the Sandiganbayan.

As we commemorate this milestone, the Sandiganbayan Committee on Gender-Responsiveness joins the institution in reflecting on nearly five decades of steadfast commitment to integrity, accountability, and justice in the service of the Filipino people.

This occasion serves as a reminder that the values that guide the administration of justice are likewise strengthened by a workplace culture founded on respect, inclusivity, professionalism, and equal opportunity. Through gender-responsive initiatives and programs, we continue to support an institution where these principles are upheld not only in our decisions, but also in our daily work and interactions.

Happy 48th Anniversary, Sandiganbayan!

PCOS is now increasingly being referred to as PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome) to better reflect the conditionโ€™s broader hormonal, metabolic, and endocrine effects on the body.

The name change was announced at the European Congress of Endocrinology in Prague last May 12, 2026, and published in The Lancet following years of global consultation among medical experts, researchers, and patient organizations led by Professor Helena Teede of Monash University.

The updated terminology aims to improve awareness, diagnosis, and care for individuals living with the condition.

The Right to Care Card (RTC) is an initiative of the Quezon City Government that enables q***r couples to authorize their partners to make medical decisions on their behalf through a Special Power of Attorney (SPA).

Through the program, a designated partner may agree, refuse, or withdraw consent for medical care, treatment, procedures, tests, and prescriptions when necessary. The initiative seeks to promote dignity, inclusion, and respect by recognizing the role of chosen partners in healthcare decision-making.

Launched by the Quezon City Government through its Gender and Development Council Office, the RTC is the first program of its kind in the Philippines and forms part of the city's efforts to foster an inclusive and respectful community for all.

In her message on behalf of the Sandiganbayan Committee on Gender-Responsiveness (SB-CGR), Associate Justice Maria Theresa V. Mendoza-Arcega highlighted the importance of fostering a workplace culture anchored on equality, respect, inclusivity, and compassion. She emphasized that every individual deserves to be treated with dignity and fairness, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.

As part of the program, the winners of the Poetry Writing Contest conducted in celebration of National Women's Month were also recognized and awarded for their outstanding entries. The activity highlighted the creativity and meaningful contributions of Sandiganbayan officials and employees in advancing awareness of gender equality and women's empowerment.

The observance serves as a reminder that inclusivity and respect strengthen both the workplace and public service, and that the principles of justice are reflected not only in decisions and policies, but also in our everyday interactions with one another.

The SB-CGR remains committed to promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all.

On May 26, 2026, the Sandiganbayan Committee on Gender-Responsiveness (SB-CGR) conducted a writeshop on the survey form for external clients of the Sandiganbayan.

The activity served as a venue to review and enhance the survey form as a tool for assessing the delivery of inclusive, accessible, client-centered, and gender-responsive public service within the institution.

Participants also discussed ways to strengthen feedback mechanisms to ensure that the experiences and needs of external clients are appropriately considered in the continuous improvement of institutional processes and services.

This initiative forms part of the Committeeโ€™s continuing efforts to advance gender mainstreaming and promote responsive and inclusive public service within the Sandiganbayan.
