On August 11, 2026, PCPT Mark J. M. Macaspac, Team Leader, Ilocos Norte Provincial Cyber Response Team (INPCRT), in coordination with the Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office (INPPO) and under the supervision of PCOL Greg T. Guerrero, Chief of RACU 1, served as resource speaker during the Disaster Risk Management Meeting and Orientation on Active Threat Preparedness and Response in Schools at the SDOIN Conference Hall, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

The activity was attended by secondary school heads and School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Coordinators (SDRRMCs) and aimed to enhance their awareness and preparedness in preventing and addressing cybercrime and disaster-related online scams, including fraudulent donation drives, fake relief assistance offers, and false government advisories.

PMGEN Wilson C. Asueta, Director, PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, emphasized, “Preparedness and awareness are key to protecting our schools from evolving threats. By equipping school leaders with cybersecurity knowledge, we strengthen their ability to respond effectively and keep our school communities safe.”

On August 12, 2026, personnel of the Ifugao Provincial Cyber Response Team (IPCRT), under the supervision of PMAJ Annie Carmel C. Comising, Team Leader, and the leadership of PCOL Rafmil Dela Paz Corpuz, Chief of RACU CAR, conducted a Cybercrime Awareness and Cyberbullying Lecture for the students of Hucab Elementary School in Kiangan, Ifugao.

The activity focused on cybercrime prevention, cyberbullying, online safety, responsible use of digital platforms, and proper reporting of cyber-related incidents. Through an interactive discussion, the students were encouraged to practice safe and responsible online behavior and become responsible digital citizens.

PMGEN Wilson C. Asueta, Director, PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, emphasized, “Protecting children in the digital world begins with early awareness and proper guidance. By equipping our young learners with knowledge on cyber safety and responsible online behavior, we empower them to recognize risks, make informed choices, and become responsible digital citizens.”

Target ngayon ng panibagong online scam ang mga taong dati nang nabiktima ng panloloko, kung saan pinapangakuan silang mababawi ang kanilang nawalang pera kapalit ng bayad.

Ayon kay PNP-ACG Director Police Major General Wilson Asueta, tinatawag itong “fund recovery scam,” kung saan gumagamit ang mga scammer ng AI-generated advertisements sa social media at nagpapanggap na recovery o legal service provider.

Ginagamit din umano ang AI-generated photos at videos, pati logo at pangalan ng PNP-ACG at CICC, para magmukhang lehitimo.

Matapos ang paunang bayad, maaari pang i-refer ang biktima sa mga nagpapanggap na pulis, abogado o financial expert.

Kapag nakapagbigay na ng malaking halaga, bina-block umano ang biktima at dine-deactivate ang social media account ng scammer.

Binigyang-diin ni Asueta na walang kaugnayan ang PNP-ACG sa anumang fund recovery service.

Pinayuhan ang publiko na maging mapanuri sa mga online advertisement upang maiwasan ang muling mabiktima ng panloloko.
