On February 24, 2026, the Local Government Unit of Polomolok proudly welcomed the turnover of Mindanaoโ€™s first Cement Bamboo Frame Technology (CBFT) classroom at Landan Elementary School, Brgy. Landan, Polomolok, South Cotabato. The project, implemented by Mahintana Foundation, Inc. under its Adopt-a-School Program, marks a significant milestone in advancing inclusive, disaster-resilient, and environmentally sustainable learning spaces in the municipality.

The initiative was made possible through the generous support of AY Foundation, Inc. and Dole Philippines, Inc., in partnership with BASE Bahay Foundation, Inc. and units of the Philippine Army. The newly constructed CBFT classroom showcases innovative construction technology that combines cement and bamboo to create climate-resilient and sustainable infrastructure, an important step in strengthening education facilities in vulnerable and underserved communities.

As part of the turnover ceremony, the school also received 100 armchairs through Mahintana Foundationโ€™s Chairs-for-Trees initiative and one STARBOOKS (Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosk Station) unit from DOST South Cotabato. The STARBOOKS unit serves as a digital library that provides offline access to science and technology resources, supporting learners and teachers especially in areas with limited internet connectivity.

The ceremony brought together representatives from national government agencies, the provincial government, the private sector, and local stakeholders in a strong display of unity and shared purpose. The Local Government Unit of Polomolok, headed by Mayor Bernie D. Palencia and represented by Municipal Administrator Mr. Joven Ryan Malida alongside members of the Sangguniang Bayan and the Mayorโ€™s Office, conveyed their sincere appreciation to all partner organizations for selecting Polomolok as the site of Mindanaoโ€™s first CBFT classroom.

Local officials emphasized that this milestone reflects the strength of multi-sectoral collaboration in addressing infrastructure gaps and advancing resilient, future-ready learning environments for the municipalityโ€™s learners.

Through initiatives such as this, LGU Polomolok continues to support programs that promote resilient communities, quality education, and sustainable innovation, building not only classrooms, but brighter futures for the children of Polomolok.
