Community Dialogue: Binalonan PNP Holds Dialogue with vendors and members of TODA at Binalonan Public Market at Barangay Poblacion, Binalonan, Pangasinan.

In a continuing effort to strengthen community partnership and promote public safety, on June 3, 2026 personnel of Binalonan Police Station led by PMAJ EDGAR ALLAN G. SERQUIÑA, OIC, conducted an Ugnayan sa Barangay/Community Dialogue with vendors and members of TODA at Binalonan Public Market at Barangay Poblacion, Binalonan, Binalonan, Pangasinan.

The activity served as a venue for meaningful discussion between the police and the community regarding peace and order and public safety concerns. During the dialogue, topics discussed included crime prevention, particularly the prevention of theft and robbery, municipal ordinances, road safety tips, and traffic discipline. PMAJ EDGAR ALLAN G. SERQUIÑA emphasized the importance of active community participation and vigilance in maintaining peace and order, ensuring public safety, and reducing the occurrence of crime and traffic-related incidents within the municipality. The activity also served as a venue for addressing community concerns, fostering cooperation, and strengthening police-community relations. Furthermore, Police Major SERQUIÑA shared his personal CP number with the member of TODA to ensure the prompt reporting of any crime that could disrupt peace and order within the Municipality.

This initiative aimed to raise awareness among residents, strengthen police-community relations, enhance community participation, and support the efforts of the PNP in maintaining peace and order and ensuring public safety.

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO, La Union — Pinaigting ng Police Regional Office (PRO) 1 ang kampanya laban sa ilegal na droga matapos madiskubre ng anti-illegal drug operatives ang limang ma*****na plantation sites sa bahagi ng Sugpon, Ilocos Sur mula Mayo 30 hanggang 31, 2026, kung saan winasak ng mga awtoridad ang tinatayang 9,820 fully grown ma*****na plants na may kabuuang Standard Drug Price (SDP) na PhP1,964,000.00.

Sa Sitio Lococ na nasa pagitan ng Brgy. Licungan, Sugpon, Ilocos Sur at Brgy. Badeo, Kibungan, Benguet, nadiskubre ng operating units ang isang ma*****na plantation site na may tinatayang lawak na 800 square meters na tinamnan ng humigit-kumulang 4,800 fully grown ma*****na plants na may tinatayang halagang PhP960,000.00 sa isinagawang ma*****na eradication operation noong Mayo 30, 2026.

Samantala, sa kasunod na operasyon na tumagal hanggang umaga ng Mayo 31 sa Brgy. Caoayan, Sugpon, Ilocos Sur, nadiskubre rin ng operating units ang apat pang ma*****na plantation sites na may kabuuang lawak na 890 square meters na tinamnan ng humigit-kumulang 5,020 fully grown ma*****na plants na may SDP na PhP1,004,000.00.

Agad na nagsagawa ang operating units ng documentation, inventory, evaluation, at onsite destruction sa mga ma*****na plants alinsunod sa umiiral na operational procedures. Wala namang naarestong cultivator sa magkahiwalay na operasyon.

Pinuri naman ni PBGEN Jovencio S. Badua Jr., Acting Regional Director ng PRO 1, ang operating units sa matagumpay na operasyon at muling iginiit ang pinaigting na kampanya laban sa ilegal na droga.

“Sa ilalim ng ating Enhanced A.L.E.R.T.O Program, patuloy nating pinaiigting ang kampanya laban sa lahat ng uri ng ilegal na gawain, lalo na ang pagtatanim at distribusyon ng ilegal na droga. Ang pagkakadiskubre at pagsira sa mga plantation site na ito ay malinaw na patunay na hindi titigil ang PRO 1 sa pagsasagawa ng masinsinang operasyon upang maprotektahan ang ating mga komunidad laban sa banta ng ilegal na droga," pahayag ni PBGEN Badua. "Patuloy nating palalakasin ang koordinasyon ng kapulisan at iba pang law enforcement units upang matunton at tuluyang mabuwag ang mga ilegal na aktibidad sa ating nasasakupan."

Bahagi ang operasyon ng tuloy-tuloy na anti-illegal drug campaign ng PRO 1 sa ilalim ng Enhanced A.L.E.R.T.O. framework na nakatuon sa agresibong law enforcement operations, mas pinaigting na koordinasyon ng mga operating units, at masusing intelligence efforts tungo sa mas ligtas at illegal drug-free na mga komunidad sa buong Region 1. # # #

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO, La Union — Police Regional Office 1 (PRO 1) intensified its offensive against illegal ma*****na cultivation after joint anti-illegal drug operatives uncovered five ma*****na plantation sites in the mountainous areas of Sugpon, Ilocos Sur on May 29, 2026, where authorities uprooted and destroyed 14,200 fully grown ma*****na plants with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of PhP2,840,000.00.

In Brgy. Caoayan, joint personnel from the Sugpon Municipal Police Station (MPS), 1st and 2nd Ilocos Sur Provincial Mobile Force Companies (ISPMFC), Ilocos Sur Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (ISPDEU), Ilocos Sur Provincial Intelligence Unit (ISPIU), and PIDMU (KIMAT) discovered two ma*****na plantation sites covering approximately 650 square meters. Authorities eradicated 5,200 ma*****na plants valued at PhP1,040,000.00.

Meanwhile, a separate anti-illegal drug operation conducted in Brgy. Licungan by the 2nd ISPMFC, together with the ISPDEU, ISPIDMU (KIMAT), 2nd Benguet PMFC, and Kibungan MPS, led to the discovery of three additional plantation sites spanning around 1,200 square meters. Operating teams destroyed 9,000 fully grown ma*****na plants with an SDP of PhP1,800,000.00.

All discovered ma*****na plants were properly documented, inventoried, and destroyed onsite through burning in accordance with established operational procedures.

No cultivator was arrested during the operations. However, PRO 1 said follow-up investigations and intelligence monitoring are ongoing to identify and apprehend individuals involved in the illegal cultivation activities.

PBGEN Jovencio S. Badua Jr., Acting Regional Director of PRO 1, commended the operating units for their sustained operational efforts and unwavering commitment to the government’s anti-illegal drug campaign.

“These successful operations demonstrate the strong coordination, vigilance, and dedication of our personnel in eradicating illegal ma*****na cultivation in remote areas. PRO 1 remains relentless in intensifying intelligence-driven operations to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs and safeguard our communities,” PBGEN Badua said.

The operations formed part of PRO 1’s continuing anti-illegal drug campaign under the Enhanced A.L.E.R.T.O. framework, which emphasizes aggressive law enforcement operations, strengthened inter-unit coordination, and sustained intelligence efforts toward safer and drug-free communities across Region 1. # # #
