The Election Registration Board (ERB) of El Salvador City successfully conducted its ERB Hearing today, June 1, 2026, at 9:00 AM at the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Office, El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental.

The hearing was attended by the members of the ERB, composed of the City Election Officer, the Local Civil Registrar and the Department of Education, in accordance with the provisions of Republic Act No. 8189 and pertinent COMELEC resolutions.

The board deliberated and acted on various voter registration applications and transactions, including new registrations, transfers of registration records, reactivation of voter records, correction of entries, change of surname due to marriage, and other related voter registration matters. The board likewise reviewed applications for the cancellation of voter registration records of deceased persons based on certified records submitted for verification.

This activity underscores the commitment of the Election Registration Board to ensure an updated, accurate, and credible voters’ list in preparation for future electoral exercises.

The El Salvador City Civil Registry Office proudly hosted the Monday Flag Raising Convocation today, June 1, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at the City Hall Grounds.

During the program, Local Civil Registrar Ms. Debbie Jane C. Gatab presented updates on the office’s ongoing programs, projects, and activities, as well as the latest memoranda and issuances concerning the delivery of civil registration services to the public.

Adding vibrance to the event, the personnel of the City Civil Registry Office showcased their talents through an entertaining dance presentation, fostering camaraderie and team spirit among employees.

The convocation also featured updates from Mr. Jorey A. Ocay, President of CRAFEAS, and Ms. Conie P. Lapad, PESO Manager, who shared important information and developments from their respective offices.

Highlighting the gathering, City Mayor Hon. Edgar S. Lignes delivered an inspiring message, encouraging all government employees to remain committed to excellence, integrity, and responsive public service.

The activity served as a platform for informing employees on current programs, projects, activities, and important service-related issuances while strengthening unity and commitment among the city workforce.

Together, we continue to uphold efficient, responsive, and people-centered public service for the constituents of El Salvador City.

The El Salvador City Civil Registry Office conducted its Monthly Meeting and at the same time a coordination meeting with the LGU Kasalan ng Bayan Organizer and Coordinators today, May 28, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the Office of the City Civil Registrar.

The meeting focused on the preparation for the upcoming LGU Kasalan ng Bayan 2026, one of the major highlights of the 19th City Charter Day Celebration. Discussions centered on the committees and assignments, program flow, and stage set-up to ensure the successful and orderly conduct of the event.

This collaborative effort reflects the commitment of the City Government of El Salvador and all participating offices in making the Kasalan ng Bayan a meaningful and memorable celebration for all participating couples.

The Philippine Statistics Authority - Misamis Oriental Provincial Statistical Office conducted an Audit, Evaluation, and Ocular Visit at the El Salvador City Civil Registry Office today, May 19, 2026, at 9:00 AM.

The activity aims to assess and monitor the compliance of the Local Civil Registry Office with existing civil registration laws, rules, regulations, and procedures in accordance with Republic Act No. 10625 and the Act no. 3753 Civil Registry Law. The evaluation also strengthens the implementation of efficient, accurate, and reliable civil registration services in the city.

Prior to the conduct of the audit and evaluation, the PSA team also paid a courtesy visit to the City Mayor Edgar "Esalig" Lignes, to formally coordinate and discuss matters relative to the activity.

The El Salvador City Civil Registry Office warmly welcomed the PSA evaluation team and expressed its commitment to continuously improving the delivery of civil registration services to the people of El Salvador City.

Preparing couples not only for marriage, but also for responsible parenthood and lifelong commitment. 💍👨‍👩‍👧

The El Salvador City Civil Registry Office facilitated the Free Pre-Marriage Orientation (PMO) and Pre-Marriage Counseling (PMC) with Parenting Seminar for the 33 LGU Kasalan ng Bayan couples today, May 13, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Little Theater, 3rd Floor, El Salvador City Hall.

The activity was a collaboration with the City Population Office and Family Life Philippines, a Non-Government Organization, to equip couples with essential knowledge and guidance on responsible parenthood, family life, proper family planning, marital responsibilities, VAWC Laws and the importance of building strong family foundations before entering married life.

This undertaking is pursuant to Article 16 of the Family Code and the PSA Memorandum Circular 2024-24 reiterating the “Memorandum Circular no. 2020-14 re: Dissemination of JMC no. 2020-01” under the DILG-DOH-DSWD-POPCOM-PSA Joint Memorandum Circular No. 1, Series of 2020 that emphasized that all contracting parties must undergo both the Pre-Marriage Orientation and Pre-Marriage Counseling by accredited PMOC counselors even those who are exempted from marriage license including couples participating in Kasalan ng Bayan or mass wedding programs.

The El Salvador City Civil Registry Office remains committed to supporting couples in preparing for responsible and meaningful married life through accessible and informative civil registration services.
