One month. Eight municipalities. Countless stories of strength, learning, and empowerment. ✨

From March 23 to April 24, 2026, the BABAE Project became more than just a training — it became a safe space for women, growth, leadership, and meaningful conversations for our communities.

Deepest gratitude to Joenathan Combis, the dedicated project coordinator together with the hardworking staff, for leading this meaningful journey. Thank you as well to United Nations Population Fund and the People of Japan for their unwavering support and partnership in making this initiative possible.

Honored to be part of this month-long engagement as your Resource Person held in Davao City — serving, learning, and empowering alongside inspiring individuals from the 8 municipalities.

Indeed, empowering women empowers communities. 🤍

Building stronger Local Nutrition Committees for healthier and more resilient communities!

A five-day Nutrition Program Management Training for the members of the Local Nutrition Committee (LNC) in the Special Geographic Area (SGA) was successfully conducted on May 11–15, 2026 at Blue Palm Mountain Resort. The activity aimed to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and competencies of local stakeholders in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of nutrition programs and interventions in their respective municipalities while promoting stronger coordination and collaboration among agencies involved in nutrition governance and service delivery.

The activity was attended by representatives from the different Local Government Units (LGUs), Administrative Staff, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators (MPDCs), and Nutrition Focal Perosons within the SGA. Resource speakers from the Bangsamoro Nutrition Council and UNICEF facilitated discussions and workshop sessions on nutrition policies and programs, nutrition situation analysis, planning and budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, and the roles and responsibilities of Local Nutrition Committees in addressing nutrition concerns at the community level.

As part of the workshop activities, participants were guided in the creation and strengthening of their respective Local Nutrition Committees (LNCs) and in the formulation of their Local Nutrition Action Plans (LNAPs), identifying priority nutrition concerns, strategies, and interventions aligned with their local nutrition goals. These outputs are expected to strengthen local nutrition governance and improve the implementation of nutrition services across the SGA.

This meaningful activity was made possible through the initiative and funding assistance of the Ministry of Health- Nutrition Division.
