PhilHealth paid out โ‚ฑ300.45 billion in benefits this past year, an 81.72% increase from the previous year. Every peso represents a family we were able to stand beside as their partners in health and the Corporation will continue to provide expanded benefits to every Filipino family.

As part of our ongoing monitoring efforts, PhilHealth is looking into reported discrepancies between what patients are told about their coverage and what providers submit in their claims. We are reinforcing our auditing systems, deepening coordination with oversight bodies and healthcare providers, and ensuring that our members always receive accurate, transparent information about their benefits.

โ— You can reach out to the PhilHealth Cares (PCARES) representatives in the hospital if you have questions or concerns and they can also help you get the care that is appropriate for you,
โ— You may request an itemized bill and check for your PhilHealth coverage before settling your account.

Conducted through a series of virtual sessions, the initiative brought together regional personnel from across the country to enhance their capabilities in implementing the YAKAP program and its key components, including GAMOT and OPD Cancer Screening. The training focused on equipping participants with the essential tools, skills, and knowledge needed to effectively engage with communities, healthcare providers, and partner clinics.

Participants are expected to emerge from the program as confident communicators and credible advocatesโ€”dubbed YAKAP Championsโ€”who can deliver clear, consistent, and impactful messaging. By strengthening grassroots communication, the initiative aims to address public confusion, promote a culture of preventive care, and encourage PhilHealth members to actively engage in regular primary healthcare services.

Ultimately, the effort supports PhilHealthโ€™s broader vision of ensuring that members genuinely experience the promise of YAKAP: โ€œMalayo sa Sakit,โ€ underscoring a future where Filipinos are better protected from illness through early intervention and sustained care.

The training program was conducted in four batches on March 18โ€“19, 23โ€“24, 25โ€“26, and April 7โ€“8, 2026, via MS Teams.
