The Coast Guard District Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (CGDBARMM) successfully completed the Marine Exercise 2026 (MAREX26) coordination and preparatory activities spearheaded by the Philippine Marine Corps (PMC) and the United States Marine Corps (USMC). Under the PH-US Mutual Defense BoardโSecurity Engagement Board (MDB-SEB) CY 2026 activities, said activity was held from 18 โ 29 May 2026 and was participated by other agencies including Philippine Coast Guard.
The exercise aims to enhance interoperability, operational readiness, and inter-agency coordination among participating agencies in addressing evolving maritime and security threats. This is very much in line with the primary mission of CGDBARMM, to strengthen maritime defense cooperation, improve tactical preparedness, and enhance the capability of security forces to respond effectively to various unexpected scenarios.
Through continuous collaboration, joint exercises, and capability enhancement initiatives such as MAREX26, participating agencies further solidified their shared commitment to safeguarding national security interests, promoting regional peace and stability, and ensuring a more resilient and responsive maritime security environment for the benefit of the Filipino people, especially the people of the BARMM Region.
