SCHOOL QUALITY ASSURANCE FOR TERM 1 EXAMINATION

San Juan Elementary School conducted a School Quality Assurance (QA) of the Term 1 Examination, including the Table of Specifications (TOS) and test questions, in preparation for the Term 1 Examination scheduled on August 28 and September 1, 2026.

The quality assurance activity aims to ensure that the examination is valid, reliable, appropriate, and aligned with the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs)/learning competencies, TOS, and Bloom’s Taxonomy. It also seeks to check the accuracy, clarity, appropriateness, and level of difficulty of the test items and ensure that the assessment measures the intended learning outcomes.

The School Quality Assurance Team is composed of:
Helly B. Laderas – Chairman
Maricel P. Quilla – Member
Angelou Micah S. Padua – Member
Dr. Nelia C. Nafarrete-School Head

Objectives of the Term 1 Examination:
The Term 1 Examination aims to measure learners’ attainment of the competencies and learning outcomes covered during the first term, identify learners’ strengths and areas for improvement, and provide teachers with assessment data that will guide appropriate instructional interventions and support.

Assessment Anchored on Bloom’s Taxonomy:
The preparation of the examination follows the cognitive domains of Bloom’s Taxonomy—Remembering, Understanding, Applying, Analyzing, Evaluating, and Creating. This ensures that the test includes a balanced range of questions that assess not only learners’ recall of knowledge but also their ability to understand, apply, analyze, evaluate, and use what they have learned in meaningful situations.

Through this collaborative quality assurance process, San Juan Elementary School continues to uphold quality, fairness, and integrity in assessment, ensuring that every examination truly reflects the learning and development of our learners.

Quality Assessment • Meaningful Learning • Better Outcomes

Student-Led School Watching and Hazard Mapping

In compliance with DepEd Order No. 23, s. 2015, San Juan Elementary School conducted a Student-Led School Watching and Hazard Mapping activity led by Joana Jasmine C. Tamayo, SELG President, under the supervision of Mrs. Maricel P. Quilla, SELG Adviser.

The activity aimed to promote disaster preparedness and strengthen students' awareness of school safety by actively involving them in identifying potential hazards within the campus. The team identified several safety concerns, including slippery pathways, loose and falling windows, damaged drainage covers, sagging ceilings, thorny plants, and moss-covered walkways that increase the risk of slips and falls.

These findings are essential in helping the school prioritize immediate repairs and preventive measures to ensure a safer and more child-friendly learning environment. Appropriate actions such as repairing damaged facilities, replacing loose windows, securing sagging ceilings, clearing thorny vegetation, removing moss from walkways, installing warning signs, and conducting regular maintenance and monitoring are recommended. Through collaborative efforts among the school administration, teachers, parents, and community partners, these hazards can be effectively addressed, ensuring the safety and well-being of every learner and school personnel.
