First Term School-Based INSET 2026 | Day 2

On September 11, 2026, the Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff of Pangascasan Integrated School gathered at Pangascasan Integrated School for the second day of the First Term School-Based In-Service Training (INSET). The day was filled with meaningful learning experiences, insightful discussions, and collaborative activities aimed at enhancing professional competence and improving educational practices.

The program was smoothly facilitated by our emcees, Sir Alex Joandro D. Lagmay and Ma’am Amor Clytie C. Miguel (Teacher I). To begin the day, Ma’am Richelle Faye V. Ramos (Substitute Teacher I) delivered a comprehensive recap of the previous day's sessions, reinforcing key learnings and setting the tone for another productive day.

The first session on Contingency Planning, presented by Sir Arquimedes V. Austria (Head Teacher I), emphasized the importance of preparedness, adaptability, and strategic planning in ensuring the continuity of learning and school operations during emergencies and unforeseen circumstances. This was followed by Ma'am Eva C. Mina (Master Teacher II), who discussed P*SA-Like Assessment, highlighting the need to strengthen learners' critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving skills through real-world and contextualized learning tasks.

Participants also gained a deeper understanding of current educational policies through discussions on DepEd Order No. 14, s. 2026, DepEd Order No. 15, s. 2026, and DepEd Order No. 16, s. 2026, presented by Ma'am Charmie O. Reynaldo (Teacher V), Ma'am Myra F. Ocampo (Teacher VI), and Ma'am May Jane D. Ancheta (Teacher III), respectively. These sessions underscored the importance of staying informed about policy updates to ensure effective implementation and compliance in delivering quality education.

A highlight of the day was the session on AI-Assisted Instruction, facilitated by Ma'am Kristine Mercy R. Velasco (Teacher VI). Participants explored innovative educational technologies such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Canva, Adobe Express, Curipod, and EvalBee. The session showcased how artificial intelligence can support lesson planning, content creation, assessment, classroom engagement, and administrative tasks, enabling educators to work more efficiently while fostering innovative and learner-centered instruction.

The day's learning journey concluded with a Post-Test facilitated by Ma’am Larra May V. Legiralde and Ma’am Charlene A. Bumacod, allowing participants to assess and reflect on the knowledge gained from the sessions. The program culminated in the Giving of Certificates, recognizing the dedication and active participation of all attendees.

As Day 2 came to a close, participants were reminded of several important takeaways: the value of preparedness and resilience in times of uncertainty, the need to cultivate globally competitive learners through higher-order thinking skills, the importance of understanding and implementing updated DepEd policies, and the transformative potential of technology and artificial intelligence in modern education. These lessons serve as a guide as we continue our mission of providing quality, inclusive, and future-ready education for every learner.
